I's always been a little confusing to me why she did so little work for VS (even catalogue). I think she has always had one of the best bodies for swimwear and lingerie. Great soft feminine yet toned body, breasts and amazing butt, a clear waistline, a flat stomach etc. Maybe she was too much of a Sports Illustrated girl or otherwise the chemistry wasn't there. There was also a time when her career was very much on the back burner (she seemed to be vacationing a lot, lost her green card etc.) so maybe she just didn't have the fire to push forward with Victoria's Secret. I think VS is one of those brands where loyalty counts for a lot. Look at Marisa Miller, Behati etc. I think that since even after she walked for Louis Vuitton they didn't book her for the VSFS chances are very high she'll never walk their show. I don't know how she would be on the runway. However, they have had shorter models and even girls that maybe didn't have the longest legs. It's true that Victoria's Secret favours high fashion bodies. Barbara F. is their fit model etc. She might have worked on the runway though because old school Victoria's Secret models were very womanly compared with the cast nowadays and nobody booed them off the catwalk!

My first reaction to the commercial was very positive! I love the use of wings, sparkly straps, shooting at the Louvre and shooting outside. I think that Karlie looked expensive: credit to Jennka. I like Behati's hair. In the beginning, I didn't even recognize her with blonde hair but I think the change was positive because the way she usually does her hair looks more glamorous as a blonde. I wonder if this is the time when they are kind of putting Lais and Gracie up against each other and observing who they want to use more. I also think that in the catalogue pictures katchitup posted here Magdalena and Martha had a very similar vibe. The kind of look Marloes gives is something that I don't think the other girls are doing. I think the same for Doutzen as well especially since that whole H&M mess. She posted a Victoria's Secret picture on Twitter (while the commercial shoot was going on) so I don't think there is much bad blood at this point. Or maybe it's one of those things that when you are losing something you start to appreciate it more.Theories about prior commitments etc. are plausible but the lack of catalogue pictures at the same time is a bit worrying.

There are also moments when I look at Gracie but I think she is Emanuela de Paula. Just goes to show that Victoria's Secret definitely has a specific type.

I hope Elyse Taylor makes it to the show again. Her body looked amazing despite having to wear that awful clown outfit at the 2009 show.

This Doutzen thing is super weird. There aren't any Christmas catalogue lingerie updates on her thread when many others have had tons of new pictures. And now she doesn't seem to be in Paris even though last year she did the commercial and had her own behind the scenes video. If she leaves, there will only be two old school Angels left, Alessandra and Adriana.

I wonder if her contracts with L'Oréal Paris (and Chanel) could be a hindrance in terms of Victoria's Secret? Like how they bought out Adriana from Maybelline. Maybe they felt they would have liked to use Doutzen more but couldn't because of L'Oréal.

Why of course I'm comparing her with the other Angels who haven't had the bra yet and in my opinion she is still kind of stretching her wings etc. Okay so we have established that in 2012 she stopped being mainly about PINK and quickly got to do the big assignments so that constitutes a "breakout star" in a way but.. I guess I'm expecting more solo appearances, public / fan recognition, TV etc. from her. Oh I hope people won't be as harsh as that because Behati is still the one that has to bring it in commercial etc. Adam can't hold her hand. PS. Fun to see you back after such a dramatic exit ;D

However, I see PINK as a different beast as evidenced by how few (or nonexistent) promotional events, fan signings, TV appearances etc. she had before 2012. PS. Karlie's hair looks immediately more interesting straight from the thumbnails now than it did shorter. I would love to see it styled like Mia Wallace's. Touring colleges across America clearly is not doing promotional events. Doing sporty shit with sporty people to promote VS and their stuff with MLB and the NFL is clearly not promotional stuff.. Yup, makes perfect sense. I'm not a huge fan of her, haven't been since I've read a few of her interviews, but she's been working for and with the brand promoting the hell out of their pink line, which is by the way their biggest seller... so um I'm not sure where you're going with that Sanni... So what I'm getting at is that she has been playing for a long time but it wasn't until recently that she moved up to the big leagues. For the longest time she was kinda more like a PINK spokesmodel since she was left out of most of the major things where the Angels appear together. Oh I think it is kinda bad. Almost insulting how they took interest like that after a famous man had approved of her but whatever. At least she looks awesome in some of the commercials / promoting although I'm not a big fan of her otherwise hipster style and that weight loss doesn't really flatter her unless she is posing and creating curves (then it does look good and toned).

I think costumes work more as an isolated thing. Like 2006 Come Fly With Me segment. Some of those outfits were hella sexy! Otherwise I would love to see more full-on lingerie: garters, slips etc. Sounds like a nice fresh colour palette that they haven't done before! I can already see really soft pale yellow in my mind's eye
