Chrissy has been growing on me recently. XD All this complaining about her made me interested to check her out again and her interviews come across better than her quotes. She is a handful but if you look at her Twitter keeping in mind that that is just her sense of humour she turns out to be more entertaining than many cookie cutter models The lineup is quite white so she might be in among other reasons (high profile marriage, friends with people from SI as evidenced by Summer of Swim etc.). (I hate the token thing though )

I think they want to bring back the glory days of SI when their girls were everywhere and people knew who was in the issue. Kate is today's answer to Tyra, Heidi etc. so it would be foolish for them to stop putting her at the forefront. I think that Nina has potential for the cover but I would love to see Alyssa get more recognition. Chrissy has mentioned how she is pretty burned out from modelling so she might have completely moved on to TV. However, SI is a pretty big part of her fame so I dunno if she would be the one to say goodbye.

Kate could get a triple cover but I'm not sure if they have the guts to do it. The times have changed since Elle Macpherson's days. I think people are quicker to want someone new. However, I think Kate is the only one who could do three SI covers (and this isn't just coming from a biased place ). She had an immediate impact, SI can completely claim her as their own (Victoria's Secret sure didn't launch her career) and they want it to matter when they say so and so had the most covers etc. Out of the current crop Kate is one of the only ones if not the only one who is well on her way to the status of an SI icon. And selfishly I of course hope she'll make the cover because I think that otherwise she might move on. I'm hoping she'll be like Petra Nemcova but she might be more like Brooklyn etc.

I did the beauty mark check on that girl before and I don't think they match. Like the one on Kate's right breast is more of a freckle than a mole. Plus I think she is currently bigger than that girl.
  6. The whole models getting overshadowed by musicians... If you are a beautiful model half-naked on the runway and possibly with wings on how in the hell are you letting someone overshadow you?! They need to look in the mirror at that point. But yeah Victoria's Secret should acknowledge that most of the models will benefit from two types of performers: either the musician kind of stays in the background giving their support and energy through music (like Seal) or someone who will give a lot of interaction so every girl can have her "moment" (like Timberlake). But if a performer is doing their thing and a model is supposed to do hers it sets up a situation where some models are going to lose. One has a microphone and the other might not have strong enough pure presence to overthrow that.

I love how Barbara directly inspired the team of L'Oreal with her love of pandas! She is gonna be around for awhile!

Doesn't this look like bodypaint? Except for the strings hanging down from the cleavage. The thing that confuses me about that is how the shape of the breast is very round even in that position which makes me think that it might be real fabric.
  10. Sanni replied to slowen's post in a topic in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit
I like the body paint theory! Except that they really need to do those outside. They turn out much more interesting. jj3, I think that might just be a play on words which the English-speaking people are quite fond of (C'EST = CHEST).

If that is a "real" model, I think it might be for a partner's advertisement. Otherwise it seems quite boring to have a rookie shoot for SI in a studio

Yes the Vanity Fair shoot has Marilyn's influence. Marilyn photographed in that gold lamé dress are one of the most used pictures of her. Very few people "own" a piece of clothing but Marilyn Monroe definitely owns the white halterneck dress and also the gold one. I bet whoever designed Kate's dress was inspired by Travilla's exquisite work. And it's probably not just magazines but the models themselves might try to channel a legendary beauty to evoke a certain feeling. Like Adriana Lima has mentioned imagining she is Marilyn Monroe or Sophia Loren. It's not that far fetched to think that Kate might do that too to a certain degree since at least on two occasions (Letterman and Halloween party) she has done the iconic white halterneck dress look. Plus Kate has a sweet looking face which in my opinion is one of the most important things to pull off Marilyn's style. So many beautiful women have tried but end up looking hard. Kate is not in danger of that. In my opinion, someone like Anna Nicole Smith was closer to Jayne Mansfield than Kate is.

I agree. I prefer her being her than her being a character I think she would do well with something involving fitness Yes fitness! I don't think I've ever seen a fitter more toned model who still has her boobs and butt And I think she would have the passion for it. Remember the interview she did with Nick Verreos? http://nickverrreos.blogspot.fi/2009/06/nick-and-marisa-miller-on-msn-homepage.html I can't find the video but even Nick was surprised by how excited Marisa got when he talked about how women should be confident about their bodies in a bikini. And I've always wondered how come so few models get to do Shape etc. covers but obviously she is the exception to the rule! (I think this Women's Health Magazine video might not have been posted here as a YouTube video:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhjUxo3u3ew

As much fun as it might be to see Marisa on a movie screen I'd rather watch her and not some character I have a feeling that if she really wants to host she can make it happen. People hate on Chrissy Teigen but she has managed to get all sorts of gigs so why not Marisa I do selfishly wish that her show would somehow involve beauty / lifestyle etc.

You know I would love it if she got some sort of hosting job (outside of NFL ;D). I think she would be great at it. Her personality was what drew me in and I think it's a big part of her success. Becoming one of the most popular SI models, becoming a Victoria's Secret Angel etc.

I did not have high expectations so it was ok There was not enough Marisa. I am not saying this b/c I am a Marisa Militia Member. Some of the scenes in which they switched between Jeff & Ryan's characters and their avatars (played my Marisa & Jame Hong) were poorly edited. The switches often did not flow well and it was confusing perspective-wise. They also only last for a few seconds. I think if they showed more of the avatar perspective and made those scenes slightly longer it would have been better I think some models should stick to modeling. In Marisa's case I am not sure b/c of the lack of screen time she had on R.I.P.D. Rosie, I haven't seen Transformers yet so I have no comments. I heard she did pretty bad Brooklyn, I've only seen "What to Expect..." Although her performance was far from Award-grade she did better than expected From what I have gathered Kate's role in The Other Woman is bigger than Marisa's on R.I.P.D.

They have always maintained that they are friends. Kate Upton will model for Chrissy Teigen's Beach Bunny line. However, I don't think it's close super comfortable friendship. Maybe they figure it's more beneficial to be friends. I think there might sometimes be a little edge. Competitive. And it's funny how quickly Kate's laugh stops in that Swim Daily video around 0.36.
