I suspected something like that to be the case because I think that the reason why Barbara Palvin stayed away from Twitter for so long was because she had followed so many people who had begged her to follow them. Maybe using her account wasn’t as much fun anymore as she got more famous and popular. It seems like an easy mistake to make when you are first gaining some recognition but still see yourself as a regular person. Having fans would seem weird yet exciting and flattering so you might want to thank them by following them back. Yet there can come a time when the difference between a celebrity and fans becomes so big that the celebrity has to create some distance between himself/herself and the fans. Maybe Barbara should to do some sweeping as well.

Definitely Xenia Deli. I thought that her casting call video was very cute. It’s disappointing that she didn’t make it into the issue even though she has shot for SA Swimsuit.

How could they threaten Bellazon with lawsuits when they themselves posted the pictures? It’s not a crime to recognize someone even without a face shot. And I remember when they posted a picture of a location, I immediately thought of Switzerland even though it seemed unlikely that they’d go shoot there. Well, they did in fact have a shoot in Switzerland.

@Clauds Interesting, what you’re saying aligns with the impression that I’ve gotten even though I haven’t followed Nina’s career moves that closely. Maybe Nina didn’t quite know where she wanted to take her career after she got the cover so the moment kind of fizzled out for her. Perhaps she still wants to model (instead of moving into hosting/acting) but sharing the cover with two other girls didn’t really provide a big boost for her career because she was already popular among swimsuit clients. However, being on the cover of SI should mean that there are more opportunities to do beauty/fashion shoots that are aimed at women so maybe the issue is with her management as well.

I think that Nina’s impact after the cover was underwhelming. I thought that she was one of the most popular SI models but apparently not. However, SI might want to have a do-over since she could become a big name for SI specifically. I think that Chrissy was able to work the title of being a SI cover model really well because being on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue made her into a “legitimate” celebrity in the entertainment media. She and John Legend were able to brand themselves as a celebrity couple instead of Chrissy being just John Legend’s model girlfriend. I’m under the impression that Lily is not considered to be a bona fide SI (cover) model but she doesn’t really need the approval of SI readers. I think that being on the cover of SI made her a bigger name in modelling and at Victoria’s Secret e.g. she got the Fantasy Bra.

I felt a bit sorry for her when I saw her GQ video. It looked like the implants had “ruined” her body/beauty because she didn’t look like a model any longer let alone beautiful enough to have been on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. And she had such a beautiful body before: However, when she is wearing a dress, she looks as great as she did before the surgery.

I was at a store today, glanced at an ad for Calvin Klein’s fragrance and it immediately occurred to me that the models in the campaign must be Jasmine and her boyfriend. Now I understand why people want them to be on the cover of the Valentine’s Day catalogue. I think that VS would be stupid not to put the couple on the cover since CK has already given them such a massive stamp of approval.

I was sure that Nina Agdal would be on the cover of SI one day. However, doesn’t it seem like the trio cover didn’t do much for her? Maybe they should have waited till they could give her a solo one. Now it might like seem like Nina getting a solo cover wouldn’t be as mutually beneficial for her and SI as it might have seemed before the trio one. Or maybe MJ et al. feel like Nina was somewhat overlooked by the public/overlooked in the media when she shared the cover with Lily and Chrissy. So they might figure that Nina could still be a big star for SI if she got a solo cover where she wouldn’t be sharing the spotlight with anyone else.
