Dude, this is turning to be out the year of the underdogs so far, ain't it? Maybe seeing the Ravens win wasn't that much of a surprise. But DAMN, ARIZONA BEATING CAROLINA?! :atoobie: :| That was kinda surprising. They stuck it to the panthers LIKE A CACTUS!!! :lost:

NBA
I 2nd that, NO DOUBT!!! Bynum also showed that physical toughness we need from a center. Both teams jell well together, but we have a lot more depth in our bench. Don't know what the future holds, but I feel these teams will meet again with all the marbles on the line.

Dexter
I wonder if Deb is gonna connect the dots. Is she gonna find out that Laura Moser was Dexter's real mother, the real reason why her Dad took Dexter in, also the fact that the Ice Truck Killer and her former fiance was Dexter's REAL BROTHER?! That would send a shockwave to the show and the relationship Dex and Deb have. Even if she finds that out, I don't know how she would find out that her brothers is a serial killer. She might suspect, though.

Another example was 2005. I saw a alternate version posted on here that showed Natasha Poly with no misstep at all and her shoe not falling off. Not sure if it was the 1st or 2nd show. It was a unedited version, and it showed Chris Botti playing the sax at the beginning. I'm not sure if they have the same intro for both shows. So, the musicians involved in the show have to perform twice as well?

Boxing
Well, supposedly Hatton-Pacquiao is a done deal. Both parties already agreed that such a fight would take place on May 2nd of next year. The only thing that has to be determined it the site. I know that Wembley Stadium holds 90,000, but would make it even a longer flight for Pacquiao, who lives in the Philippines and trains in L.A. Plus, they would have to hold it at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning over there so the American market would tune in at a reasonable time. And let's face it, you want to make the big time and money, you gotta fight in the U.S. Therefore, it is most likely gonna take place in Las Vegas. I got Manny KO'ing Hatton, most likely in the 8th or 9th round.

Hatton would get his ASS KICKED!!! I never liked Hatton, so I wanna see that. I'm doubting that Mayweather is gonna come back to fight anybody. After all, he already passed his p4p crown to "Bad" Chad Dawson/ The 2nd potentially amazing fight coming up, that would be the Mosley-Margarito fight. Its gonna go down in January.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2008 (PRE-SHOW Thread)
Too bad, it occurred in the last segment with KK's outfit Heh. Well, I guess that is part of the VSFS from now on. In 2003, they couldn't since it happened with Fernanda on the runway. It looked that way in 2005, when one girl mistepped and her shoe fell off(I believe it was Natasha Poly), but then I saw a "alternate" version, where the shoe DID NOT FALL OFF!!! <_< After that i was like WTF?! Somebody told me that they taped 2 different versions of the runway show, cut and paste and decide what they want to include and what not to include when it airs. Ever since that, I had to be skeptical. Now is just seems like VS likes to pick on Karolina Kurkova. I wonder if they messed up her on PURPOSE for the 2006 show. Plus, I'm sure other girls had mishaps with their wardrobe. Yet, they focused on HERS!!!

AMEN!!! No truer words have been spoken. When Tyra was on that runway, she OWNED IT!!! Many women have tried to fill that gap, but nobody has, and nobody ever will. Like that guy said in the 2005 show, "The greatest there ever was, the greatest there ever WILL BE!!!"

Yeah, it' me again, K_Dub, with more hits and misses about VSFS 2008. Hit: The girls dancing on the runway. Maybe Noemie went a little overboard with kissing the singer in the dangerous segment, but I enjoyed her dancing. Same with Arlenis Sosa Pena, Erin Heatherton, and Shannon Click. Shannon's dance I liked the best. With so many people on here complaining that the models look bored and lack energy, many more you should have enjoyed it. Those girls were having fun and BURSTING WITH ENERGY!!! Miss: Karolina Kurkova. Don't get me wrong, she is among my favorite. And excuse me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it seem like Victoria's Secret try to fuck with her on PURPOSE?! <_< In the Ballet De Fleurs segment of the show, she had to continuously pick up the dress as not to step on and trip and fall on the runway. Then right before the finale, they had a pin problem with her dress. Granted, she did seem to be bitchy when she told the camera people to move back and shoved her hand in the face of the camera. But shit, I'm sure other models have their mishaps, and they don't focus on those, only hers. She probably felt like she was being picked on. Hit: Ok, I'm sure many people who watched the show were kinda disappointed with the runway this year, myself included. I'm more of a traditional runway guy myself. However, I give this new runway a hit because sometimes you gotta buck back, take a chance, trying to add something new. And I think it worked. The longer runway allowed the girls to get THEIR DANCE ON!!! SHIT WAS HOT!!! Miss: Heidi Klum hosting the show. It's getting kind of old, ain't it? She wasn't even in the 2006 show, and they STILL LET HER HOST IT!!! Victoria's Secret, C'MON!!! Buck back, take a chance. Let somebody else host it next year.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2008 (POST-SHOW Thread)
I think the show was pretty good. Decent enough. I enjoyed Usher performance, as well as that guy singing with the conga drumming. The rest of the music, though, I really didn't care for. I liked the Dangerous segment the best. It was kinda cool to see the models pose and do a little dance in the middle of their walk. But what was with the cut when Morgane Dubled was walkling down the runway? I didn't fuck with the other models walking out and what was going on backstage when SHE WAS WALKING!!! I liked the Pink Segment as well, but only because it wasn't as cheesy as THOUGHT IT WOULD BE!!! The women dancing in the background was pretty cool as well. So there it is. Highs and lows. Not bad, but not great. Decent enough, though. Expections were not too high, so better than I thought it would be.

Dexter
Is there a better show on TV THAN DEXTER?! I really thought they wouldn't be able to top last year, with Doakes finding out he was the Butcher and Lila the phycho girlfriend. Now he made a friend of a ADA who knows what Dex is, likes it, participates, but doesn't follow the code. And now, the hunter becomes the hunted. From the previews of last week' show, it seems that Dexter will be back next year. Still, I'm interested to see how Dexter gets out of this predictiment, plus to see what happens to his friend turned enemy Miguel Prado.

So, the night that most of us have been waiting on has finally arrived. Judging from the outfits and photos that many have posted(many thanks to the people who did that), the show looks good. But CBS, please, and I mean PLEASE , don't air a fuckup this time, like you did the LAST TWO OR THREE YEARS!!! I don't get airing when a model has a misstep and her shoe falls off for DRAMATIC EFFECT!!!

It looks like Selita got the hang of it now. She showed extreme improvement last year. But, I'm not so sure about her hair style this year.

Kobe has a bad pinky finger. Ligament damage, I believe. He was supposed to have it surgery on it, but he would have caused him to miss the Olympics, so he decided to postpone it. Most people guessed that he would have the surgery after the Olympics. He postponed it again because he didn't want to miss the preseason.- MLB
I think it's pretty safe to say nobody outside of Philly and Tampa Bay don't care to watch much of this world series. I think a lot of people wanted to see Dodgers-Red Sox. Imagine the drama of a WORLD SERIES LIKE THAT!!! Nomar, Derek Lowe, and MANNY back in FENWAY PARK?! What a great storyline THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN!!! Instead, were stuck with the Rays and Phillies. As far as fans coming out to support their team when they make the playoffs, that ain't nothin new. Remember when the Marlins made the World Series? How bout the Angels? Nobody really cared about them until they made it to the Fall Classic. However, being a Dodger fan, I hate the Giants, so seeing the Angels beat them WAS FUN!!! :hell yea!: - MLB
Well, here I am. To you and your Phillies, CONGRATS!!! You guys had the better team, and my Dodgers couldn't overcome. Whoever thought that there would be a Phillies-Rays WORLD SERIES?! Now, I usually go for the team that represents the NL, but I might have to root for T.B should they make it. I mean, Evan Longoria was born in Downey, and went to Long Beach State. Can't root against a fellow Angelino, can I? Half of the Phillies lineup is from southern cal though True enough, but did you take any solace when the Lakers beat Philly because Kobe is a Philly native? I hardly doubt it. Plus, I said fellow Angelenos, born and raised. Cole Hamels doesn't count. He is from San Diego. Scott Eyre might have been born in Inglewood, but grew up in Montana. So, the only born and raised Angelenos are Chase Utley, Greg Dobbs, and Ryan Madson. And Actually, Tampa Bay has other SoCal natives besides Longoria. James Shields is also from the L.A. area. Besides, its kinda hard to root for a team that defeated my hometown team, isn't it?- Boxing
Hey Taz, what up? True, we are the only ones keeping this thread afloat. Looks like I my point got through to you. The Heavyweight champions of today may be good, they are certainly NOT GREAT!!! Rocky Marciano had the 49-0 record, but he had quality opponents to back it up. Sure, Joe Louis was just too old, and the same could be said for Archie Moore and Jersey Joe Walcott. However, The latter two gave him great fights, as did Ezzard Charles. The era could also be a factor at that time as well. However, I should thank Ruslan Chagaev for stopping Nikolai Valuev from tying Marciano's record? If I didn't know better, I would think that you think that I biased in favor of American boxers, which is totally NOT THE CASE!!! Matter of fact, some of my favorite fighters are Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales. Both are Mexican, and I am not of Mexican descent either. I think that Kelly Pavlik and Arthur Abraham will eventually fight down the road, should both win their upcoming fights. The only fight that could stop that from happening if Pavlik chooses to fight the winner of the Roy Jones-Joe Calzaghe fight. However, I think the public would only care about that matchup of Calzaghe wins and chooses NOT TO RETIRE!!! And who knows, if Joe is still scared of the ghost, maybe Abraham could get a shot at Calzaghe. And if Abraham wins that matchup, a Pavlik-Abraham fight would HAVE TO HAPPEN!!! The boxing publc would DEMAND IT!!! I don't think Pavik is scared of Abraham. If he was scared, he wouldn't have fought Miranda. Everybody was afraid of Miranda, and Pavlik was the only fighter at that time who had the balls to face him. Miranda was also the favorite in that fight, so what does that tell you?- MLB

So Taz, here we are again! Hey, thanks for proving MY POINT!!! Just because Ruslan Chagaev was the 1st fighter to beat Nikoli Valuev does not make him great. Juan Carlos Gomez has no big names on his resume. And he was KO'D by Yanqui Diaz in 1 ROUND?! Yeah, GREAT FIGHTER!!! And your boy Alexander Dimitrenko is a Inter-Continental Champion. If you think these guys are great, that shows how low the heavyweight division has sunk. I also followed great heavyweight champions of the history: Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman. Maybe your boy should try to get a fight in the USA, so he can show the boxing public that he is for real. Arthur Abraham. That's the guy who KO'D MIRANDA!!! IMPRESSIVE!!! Ok, I give you that one. There is just 2 things:1. Pavlik got there FIRST!!! After that, Kelly got his shot at the big time. Also, it took Kelly Pavlik 1 fight to KO Miranda, NOT 2!!! 2. According to boxrec.com, since Pavlik is fighting this upcoming weekend, and Abraham is fighting in next month, I guess that fight couldn't have been made at this time. And he is fighting Raul Marquez next, who has already been KO'D BY Fernando Vargas and Jermain Taylor. Yeah, THAT'S A CHALLENGE!!! Say what u wanna say about the belts. IBF has been involved in some curruption as well. And it sucks that they make fighters fight these mandatory challengers. So much, now boxers are willing to give up their belts to make the bigger fights. I look forward to your next post. Later for now. P.S. If you wanna see a heavyweight that is worth getting excited about, I suggest you check out Chris Arreola. Sure, he is just a prospect now, but he ain't no joke. - NBA
