Might be time for some PAYBACK!!! I already outlined why I think the Dodgers are at an advantage this time around. However, Matt, I gotta give it up to your boys. That was one hell of a comeback. In the AL, Angels vs. Yankees. New York is most likely favored, given their lineup, plus they will have home-field advantage. However, I think that 1-2 of Lackey and Weaver is better than what the Yankees have. Sabathia is probably the best pitcher in the AL, but who else do the Yankees really have? In closing, I'm hoping for a FREEWAY WORLD SERIES!!! With the exception of the D.C. area, we are the only place that hasn't had that happen before. NYC has had it many times, Chicago way back in the day had it, as did the Bay Area.

HA-HA!!! That wasn't even a challenge. Dodgers faced the best 1-2-3 punch in the NL, plus the best player in probably the MLB, and broke out the MF'N BROOMSTICK!!! :blueeyedbaby: So, while the Phillies and Rockies are softening each other up, the Dodgers are  :hell yea!: for now. The advantage belongs to the L.A. now. The Phillies did beat us in the NLCS last year, but they are worse than they were last year, and the Dodgers are better. We have 2 left-handed starters now, and 2 in the bullpen as well, perfect for dealin' with a left-handed heavy lineup that the Phillies have. Not to mention look at the Philadelphia bullpen. WHAT A MESS!!! 22 BLOWN SAVES?! :x As far as the Rockies are concerned, and record of 4-14 against the Dodgers pretty much sums up how that matchup would go down. In the AL, looks like New York and those L.A. wannabies are about to take care of business, then will head to a clash into a classic SoCal vs. New York SHOWDOWN!!! I got the Angels winning this one. Lackey and Weaver are the best 1-2 punch in the AL, and good pitching stops good hitting.

Now that was close. Dodgers were slippin' and slidin', and almost became the WILD CARD TEAM!!! However, they were able to recover to win the west and the best record in the NL as well. :blueeyedbaby: However, now it gets difficult. My boys gotta face St. Louis, who in addition have a great pitching staff, have the best player in the game, ALBERT PUJOLS!!! I know anything can happen in the playoffs, but we didn't fare well against them in the regular season. I got the Phillies winning vs. the Rockies. Both team have good lineups, but I think the Phils got the edge in pitching. The key to beating the Phillies is to have lefties to start against them to face the likes of Utley, Howard, and Ibanez, and the Rockies only have one left-handed starter, and he might not even be available. Phillies might sweep this one. I'll wait to see what happens Tuesday before I make my pics for the AL.

Boxing
No biggie. I was hoping Chris Arreola would win, because I feel you need a good, hard, Knockout puncher to make the boxing public excited about the Heavyweight Division, much like Mike Tyson did when he came on the scene. Even so, I picked Klitscho to win, so I am neither shocked or surprised. So the Heavyweight Division is back to boring. Nikolay Valuev will most likely make quick work of David Haye, and the the Klitscho Brothers aren't gonna fight each other. Hey Matt! What did I tell you? They Floyd Mayweather-Juan Manuel Marquez PPV numbers: 1 MILLION BUYS!!! I guessin' that UFC PPV did't even come CLOSE TO THAT!!! So ya see boxing is NOT DEAD!!! Just gotta make the right fights is all. And it justs rolls along. Next big fight: Miguel Cotto-Manny Pacquaio. Then Lucian Bute-Librado Andrade rematch. And I'm sure you heard about that Middleweight tournament that Taz has mentioned before. Carl Froch, Arthur Abraham, Andre Ward and Andre Dirrell are all undefeated. Mikkel Kessler has only lost to the great Joe Calzaghe, who never lost. Taylor has previously lost to Kelly Pavlik twice, and Froch KO'd him earlier this year. Ward-Kessler, Dirrell-Froch, and Taylor-Abraham all take place this year. Then to end the year, you have Kelly Pavlik vs, Paul Williams. GREAT WAY TO END THE YEAR, HUH?!

NFL
WHAT?! :x Dude, it the NFL, not the INFL!!! The commissioner can not let this happen. It's bad enough that 2 teams have to play a regular season game over there anyway. I even heard that there is a possibility to hold the SUPER BOWL IN LONDON!!! I get it. The Super Bowl has been held in either Florida or Southern Cal, so u wanna hold up somewhere else. I got the solution: VEGAS!!! (Y) Good weather, fun atmosphere.

Shouldn't you be talking about the Bears . J/k, I like Colts too . Bandwagoners. Being from Chicago doesn't mean I have to cheer for my hometown team just to show 'pride in the city'.. True enough. I was never a Raiders or Rams fan when they were in the L.A. area. I've been a Bear fan since '85. Cheering for the hometown team is more of a baseball thing anyway. Always been different with football and basketball. I'm sure there are many Laker fans that aren't from L.A. Seeing all the celebrities that go to Laker games, only Leonardo Dicaprio and Tobey Maguire are actually from the L.A. area. Matter of fact, the only sports that truly unite us are the Olympic games, because those participants represent the whole country.

NFL
How ironic. The girl from Ch-Town is not a Bears fan. <_< Me, from a city who does not have a NFL Team, I guess is the only Bears fan hear, I guess. It appears that Cutler got it together vs. Pittsburgh. Bears should be 2-0, but Cutler had that meltdown vs. Green Bay.

NBA
No, no and no. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson and Kevin Johnson were class act guys, not arrogant. Magic had a rivalry with Larry Bird, but that was about it. And unlike other greats, Iverson's bad attitude will also be part of his LEGACY!!! As far as one of the greatest scorers of all time, OK. However, that doesn't make one of the greatest players of all time. Who could he bounce from that top 50 list? And how many of those top 50 were better scorers then him? Considering his attitude, not many will feel bad for him not getting a ring. Patrick Ewing and Charles Barkley never got rings, and they were much more deserving than a player such as Iverson. Say what you wanna say about Charles, I doubt he ever threw his wife out naked with no clothes on, made homophobic statements, complained about practice, or argued with his coaches.

NBA
Good!!! Iverson has been such a spoiled, arrogant punk thug his whole career. Not to mention, throughout his whole career, there was nobody on his teams you could root for really hard to get a championship. Either they were immature at the time(like Carmello Anthony), or they already got their championship(practicably everybody on the Pistons). All the other spoiled, punk thugs(Rasheed Wallace, Dennis Rodman) had guys you could root for when you look on the teams they were on. And now, Ron Artest is on a team with likable guys you can root for.

MLB
My hometown team ain't in it yet. They are tied for the best record in the NL, but the Giants and Rockies still have a shot in the NL West, and the Dodgers gotta face S.F. 6 more times, and chances they are gonna tweak their pitching staff, making sure that L.A. faces either Tim Lincecum and/or Matt Cain more than once. Plus, they end the season with 3 against the Rockies. FUCK!!! :x

I disagree. I guarantee you no UFC PPV sales have came close to the numbers that Mayweather or Oscar De La Hoya were able to do. Plus, UFC has lost a lot of its lackluster now. Kimbo Slice went down, and the fact that Gina Carano lost to Cyborg is another blow to the woman's circuit. Gina was the face of woman's UFC, mainly because she was attractive. Same thing goes with all woman sports. Most of the other woman in the UFC are manly and rough looking.

True, Malignaggi should have won. Lot of politics involved. It was is Houston, Juan Diaz's hometown. Two of the ringside judges were also from Texas. They have a saying that if you fight in a guy's hometown, you have to KO him just to get a draw. Not to mention, Diaz's style of fighting is more crowd-pleasing than Paulie's, which means he's more marketable. And because of that, I doubt this loss will rejuvenate his career the way it did for Marco Antonio Barra when his lost his 1st fight of the trilogy he had with Erik Morales. NOT TRUE, MATT!!! Plenty of us care about boxing. Next month, Floyd Mayweather Jr. will make his comeback fighting Juan Manuel Marquez. PPV sales will be thru THE ROOF!!! Mexicans and Mexican-Americans alike are known for supporting their fellow countrymen by either attending those fights or tuning in. Add to the fact that many boxing fans and non-boxing fans hate Mayweather and his big mouth. I like Mayweather, so I will be tuning in, rooting for him. I'm in the minority, though. Many will tune in, hoping that he loses. In November, the No.#1 Pound-For-Pound boxer in the world, and currently its biggest superstar, Manny Pacquiao will be facing Miguel Cotto. U being from Philly, I'm sure you might know some Puerto Ricans who are hyped about that fight. Me, being from California, know Philipinos who are hyped about that fight. Couple with that the fact that Cotto's one loss is not controversial since that one blemish on his record was to Antonio Margacheato, you are looking at another PPV BLOCKBUSTER!!! And supposedly Shane Mosley will have a fight before this year is over. A December 5th date has been set, but the opponent is TBA. Paul Williams is a possible opponent. He was getting ready to face Middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik, but the fight have been postponed due to Pavlik having a staph infection on a knuckle on his left hand. However, I'm guessing it would be difficult for Williams to go back down to 147 in time for the fight, if he can even go that low at this stage of his career. Andre Berto is another possible opponent. He is the WBC welterweight champion. However, it was vacated when Floyd retired. He is still a little green, so I doubt his handlers would want him to face Mosley at this time. That leads to Joshua Clottey. Clottey is a good fighter who in his last fight lost a close SD decision to Miguel Cotto, somewhat controversial. I think that would be to best and easiest fight to make. So, Matt, pretty interesting, HUH?!

Best we stay on topic. If you guys want to talk about avatars and boobs, I'm sure there is a thread for that. In some real NBA news, Lamar Odom will remain a LAKER!!! Odom will be with Kobe and company for at least 3 years making $27 million with a 4th year option, which could bring the contract to $33 million.

COngrats to him, he's shown some flashes of dominance and brilliance espically last season. Mayn, you 2 are blowing this otta proportion. Many pitchers who have thrown no-hitters, and have had sucky careers, and vice versa. Mike Mussina never had a no-hitter, yet he was one of the best pitchers of his era. Johnny Vander Meer, on the other hand, threw back-to-back no hitters his 2nd year in the big leagues, and is the only pitcher to throw no-hitters back-to-back. However, he had a career record of 119 wins and 121 LOSSES!!! Last season i though Sanchez could become one of the better pitchers atleast in the NL. So this doesn't surprise me too much. He's had not a great season. But regardless. It's now even more pathetic because all of this woopy woop about Sanchez pitching a no-hitter on this thread, yet Mark Buehrle gets no mention for throwing A PERFECT GAME!!! Not only is a perfect game more impressive, it was against a quality team. Also, Buehrle has thrown a no-hitter 2 years ago, is a 4 time All-Star, and has great career numbers to back it up.

This is the reason why the Dodgers were not the big story tonight. L.A., next to last in HR this season, had 5 TONIGHT!!! :blueeyedbaby: And that catch to end the game, what that Willie Mays incarnate? No?! Oh Yeah, that was MATT KEMP!!! Too bad he didn't make it on the All-Star team. I'll give props to Sanchez, but let's face it, it was against the PADRES!!! They are a minor league team withe the exception of Adrian Gonzalez. And didn't come into the game with a record on 2-8?! <_< Some people just get lucky.

Lets be honest here, if Kobe had pulled something like this, he'd be vilified yet again. I think people hold Kobe to a higher standard then LeBron. Kobe is older, MUCH MORE accomplished, in his early 30's, and is seen as a leader. LeBron on the hand, is seen as a condescending, immature little punk(despite the fact he is 6'7 1/2). The fact that he skipped the press conference after the Cavs only added to that perception of him, and this dunk controversy is gonna add more fuel to the fire. FUCK HIM ANYWAY!!! Moving on, this offseason keeps on getting better and BETTER!!! Boston is trying to make sure they will be back in the mix in the East, Shaq joined Cleveland to get one up on Kobe <_<, and everbody is GUNNING FOR THE LAKERS!!! That begs the question, 'Who is the biggest threat to the Lakers in the West?' Personally, I think SA is too old. Duncan is at the end of his rope, which means they will be in semi-rebuilding process sooner than you think. Portland is just too young. Dallas is creeping on the come up, and Cuban is a brilliant GM, but for some reason, they always fall short of their expectations. Houston is the biggest question mark of them all. I think Tracy McGrady is shot. And who knows if Yao Ming will be back at 100%? They got Ariza, but I don't know if I was overestimating him. I never really paid attention to him until the playoffs, when his steal abilities and 3-point shooting were elevated because the games were so important at the time. Even the Lakers knew they had to make some moves in order to repeat, so they got Artest and re-signed Shannon Brown.

Supposedly Ron Artest is gonna be a Laker now, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Personally, I don't like the guy, but I always told myself "It's not about the player, it's about the uniform". Add to the fact that Phil Jackson will most likely stick around, and has been to handle both egomaniac and eccentric players, it's looks good on PAPER!!! First, I was wondering if I should be scared of the Cavs. So, should I be happy Artest is gonna be a LAKER?!

How bout myTRUE BLUE DODGERS?! Say what say about their division, they still haven't lost 3 games in a row all year. And hey, the Giants are in our division, and they would be the Wild Card team is the season ended now. Even without Manny, Dodgers are still able to win, and Manny will be back soon. And another walk-off win TONIGHT!!! This time it was Either with a 2-run homer.

NBA
Yeah. Not like it gonna do much good for them. That franchise is the worst ever in professional basketball. They have had the most no.#1 1st round picks in the history of the NBA. Ironically, the Lakers have had the fewest, one of the best franchises ever in professional basketball.
