A game United had to win so, obviously, they went for it. The problem was that in doing so, they also proved that their defence is, in fact, a bit crap. Although in all honesty, qualification was probably lost to them after the draw with PSV.

Marvel's Jessica Jones
Just finished the first episode. It seemed to take a while to get going, but I really liked the tone. Ritter is nailing the character and Luke Cage looks like he just stepped off the page, in a good way. They've made Kilgrave menacing too, even though Tennant hasn't even shown up yet. Great stuff.

Supergirl
Blasphemy! They could stand to cut back on the references to Clark, but it's been a surprisingly tight and enjoyable show up to now. I'd go so far as to say Kara is the most charming character on TV at the moment. Sadly though, they've missed a golden opportunity with regard to Jimmy Olsen's wardrobe. Here we are in the one and only time period where they could have put him in his trademark dickie bow and legitimately called it fashionable, and they don't do it. Because these are the things that really matter, obviously.

Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Confirmed that Martin Freeman will become a recurring MCU character after Civil War. They probably just want him to have a scene with Doctor Strange. From what I've been reading about the movie and what's to come in Phase 3, I'm excited about what they're doing with it. The original Civil War comic book had its critics, but this seems to be taking the best plot points from the source material, straightening them out and even improving upon them. I like that the root cause of the conflict this time around will be the Winter Soldier himself.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
I too wish they'd saved that. Doomsday isn't enough of a hook for folks who wouldn't otherwise want to go, so all they're really doing is giving away a big plot point (if not the entire plot of the film), for no other reason than to pad out a trailer. Probably safe to assume that he won't be getting his original backstory either, although to be honest, bearing in mind that he was always more of a plot device than a fully fledged character, I'm not too put out by that. What's strange is that they seem to have taken the origin of Bizarro and just sort of grafted Doomsday onto it instead. Which I guess could be quite interesting, but it'll also likely deprive this universe of a Bizarro proper.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Trailer #2 has arrived.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Also, Superman seems to have super eye-makeup removing powers. It's interesting that Snyder has almost completely reversed the roles of his two leads here. In the comics, Superman is usually the golden boy and the beacon of hope, while Batman is the dark, flawed character with the questionable moral compass. On most of the promotional material we've seen seen so far, Superman seems darker and meaner than Batman, which to be fair, feels quite weird.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
I must say, what struck me most about the teaser was just how flimsy Batman's cowl seemed when Superman tore it off him. Even the rubbery Burton batsuit offered some protection, this one looks to be approaching Batman '66 levels of uselessness. Unless they're going full Adam West of course, in which case he probably has an anti-Last Son of Krypton spray in his utility belt. No Kryptonite required.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
A brief teaser just appeared online, with another full-length trailer expected later this week. The popular theory is that the scene is a Bruce Wayne nightmare sequence, showing what he fears will happen in the future. Superman acting like Darth Vader on the Yavin IV made very little sense in the previous trailer, this would at least partially explain it.

@saber The forum is in the process of upgrading and updating. It's probably going to take another couple of days for the rebuild to take full effect, but everything should start displaying properly afterwards.

Cautious optimism the order of the day. The last two performances have been quite encouraging, and Big Sam must take a lot of the credit for energising a seemingly uncoachable group and giving them self belief. If we're still outside the bottom three when 2016 hits, we might even be able to attract a couple of additions who can help move us away from the drop zone.

Hello, good evening and welcome!

The "What Are You Thinking About Right Now?" PIP
Yeah, the vast majority of issues being mentioned up to now should have resolved themselves by the time the aforementioned rebuild is completed. I personally am liking it a lot, it's much more sophisticated than the old forum and actually much easier to navigate around. It's just a case of getting used to it.

The vast majority of the growing pains should resolve themselves when the rebuild has fully taken effect. The boss believes it’s a better product overall, and to be honest, the more I look around, the more I’m inclined to agree with him. Certain things will obviously take some getting used to, but we'll get there. Give it a month or so and we'll all have forgotten what the old forum even looked like. Promise!

Maddog is looking into this at the moment. There are a lot of kinks still to be ironed out, it's going to take at least a couple of days just to rebuild all the attachments and links from the existing posts and for quotes to be re-formatted, amongst other things.

Captain America: Civil War (2016)
That was pretty much everything I could have hoped for and more. This, really, is the strength of the whole MCU concept. The Iron Man and Captain America movies have fairly adult themes, while things like Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy are more lighthearted. Then there's the Avengers where it's a big, smashy blockbuster, and as an aside, you also have the Netflix stuff which is far grittier. They don't need to go one way or the other, because they cover all bases in different properties.

We're open for business until the end of the year. I might rethink the exact closing date later on, but only if the votes really start tailing off.
