No idea if McClaren or Joyce deserved the sack or not, but there can't be a league in the world with a higher turnover of managers than the Championship at the moment. It's like every club is owned by Maurizio Zamparini.

Me too. The fourth episode unexpectedly answered a few questions, but of course leading to about two dozen more. I think I'm still a bit fuzzy on what Kerry and Cary's exact relationship is. On the one hand they were often portrayed as siblings with Kerry the eldest, but on the other, Kerry seemed to be saying that they hadn't met before the moment Cary woke up and saw her playing with the train set.

Fassbender is one of those guys who looked 40 when he was 30, but equally, he'll probably still look 40 when he's 50.

Also, before I forget, Darryl and Thor are back for part two.

The costume just looks very generic to me, there's not much that makes me think of Marvel's Valkyrie or even Valkyries in general. Some metallic highlights would have helped things.

I think the Russos have demonstrated the best understanding of villains in the MCU so far. In Civil War, they had Zemo's actions carry some real importance, and the wedge he drove between the two leads with just a few feints of devious planning is going to have a truly lasting effect on the story arc. That's the kind of thing I'm hoping to see more of going forward. In the case of this particular movie, I'll happily go on any ride that Taika Waititi wants to take me on.

The reality for Arsenal is that they aren't up there with the genuine heavy hitters, although their fans bizarrely expect to see them not only hang with but beat the likes of Real Madrid, Barca and Bayern. Once Wenger isn't there any more (and perhaps we are nearing the right time for that to happen), they'll almost certainly find out where they are and what they are, which is basically an also-ran trying to compete with clubs higher up in the pecking order.

I sense the hairstyle change for Hemsworth is going to be controversial. Hela's outfit is pretty accurate, although I think her face in the books is half disfigured, not just scarred. Then again, she's also meant to be Loki's daughter, so perhaps look for them to switch it up a bit on both fronts. Valkyrie's gear is terribly bland. Her outfits were never great in the comics, but adding her trademark metal armour would have been an improvement. Saying that, for all we know at the moment, she may not even be Brunnhilde but some other Valkyrie altogether.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they were holding back a few changes there, because if they're willing to try something as visually out there as Lockjaw, there's really no reason for Black Bolt's gear to look so plain.

Tuning fork mounted headgear or we riot!

Same for me, the second season was by far and away my favourite. The show's third run had such fantastic potential, but got stuck in a rinse/repeat cycle on too many occasions. A lot of the characters were set up to have epic story arcs, only for most to end rather abruptly. Unfortunate really, because all the ingredients for a great season were there. I'd recommend anyone on the fence about watching to give it a try though, if only to see Eva Green who's just mesmerising in every scene.

I hope so, because I'd like nothing more than to see it work. It's apparently being co-funded by IMAX (a first for the company), which should be an aid to creating good quality visual effects. It would be a real shame if they were restricted to the point of having to play down the powers of the characters, because that's a large part of what makes them compelling. Presumably, the show now takes the AOS mid-season slot that Agent Carter used to occupy. It would certainly make sense to keep building on the groundwork that they're laying in the former's current story arc.

It was a bit of a weird situation, if I remember rightly. Supposedly, The Inhumans was never really a property that Kevin Feige had much interest in bringing to the big screen, but Ike Perlmutter more or less sandbagged him with it as part of a trade-off allowing Feige control of the MCU movie division and Perlmutter control of TV production. So its brief disappearance from Marvel's calendar kind of felt like Disney siding with Feige and telling Perlmutter "you pushed for it, now you deal with it". That being said, if the show does go down well with the fans and there's enough demand for a movie, I'm sure they'll still be able to find a way of making it happen. I'm a bit surprised not to have seen Chloe Bennet mentioned in connection with this yet, with the obvious links to her character I figured she'd be a lock to take part.

Lockjaw as himself. Should be interesting to see how this goes, although it's hard not to wonder if television will be the best medium for it. The Inhumans have really outlandish powers and their world kind of looks like Asgard in the Thor movies, all of which would be difficult to portray with a limited budget. Maybe the fact that it's only running for eight episodes will help.
  15. Latest trailer. Drax just keeps on getting all the best lines.
  16. Thanks again @Shepherd!

There was some speculation yesterday that Noomi might be the mysterious gun-wielding figure from the trailer, but honestly, I'd be surprised if that were to pan out. I think the more likely scenario is that it's David with a new body and that Shaw is only involved in a "what happened to her and was it David's fault" capacity.
  18. Michael* replied to Stromboli1's post in a topic in Movies
My best guess is that Shaw and David found the home of the Engineers (or an Engineer colony, maybe) and were either the cause of its destruction or found it already destroyed. Presumably the latter, because if they'd caused it then we'd likely have gotten that movie before this one.
  19. Oh, that's a shame. Lovely to see you anyway, hope you're doing well.

Although I find Neill Blomkamp a bit overrated, this latest trailer really makes me wish we were watching his take on the franchise instead. It pains me to say it, but it's starring to feel like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel. Whatever people thought of Prometheus, it at least promised something a bit different when Noomi Rapace went in search of the Engineers with Michael Fassbender’s head in a bag. This just looks like more of the same.
  21. I'm thinking a movie about the Oscars screw-up eventually gets made, itself winning Best Picture in about ten years' time.
  22. I'm sure I don't know what you mean. In all seriousness though, I thought they handled the situation with real class and showed a lot of dignity in handing back the award without making a fuss.
  23. I don't feel as strongly about it as some seem to, but I do think that if they were going to double check one of the envelopes, they should probably have made it that one.
  24. The mix-up was pretty brutal, but at least the producers of La La Land didn't make a big song and dance about it.
  25. The Shawshank Redemption - not an Oscar-winning movie. Suicide Squad - Oscar-winning movie.
