  1. It may not be true, although I suppose it wouldn't be too surprising since the the only person at Marvel who allegedly wanted it was Perlmutter. I still think that the property could have been adapted into a decent series or perhaps even a good movie for Phase 3, but the way it's all been handled seems to have doomed it.

The usual late September on Wearside then, with another disastrous start to a season and another manager under growing pressure. The worst thing is that I actually like Grayson a lot, he's a 'spit and sawdust' type who I've no doubt would have us challenging for the play-offs in more favourable circumstances. Unfortunately, our current reality is such that avoiding relegation to League One might be a decent outcome this year.

Given my ultimate pick I would have gone for Hayley Atwell, but the reboot did feel like the sort of thing that might have fallen into the lap of a Daisy Ridley. I think the difficult part is less finding a great actress to play Lara, it's finding one who has that as well as the level of athletic credibility they'd need to bring to the role. Daisy showed bits of that in Force Awakens, we'll have to wait and see with Alicia.

I'm of a similar opinion. I think it's the intentional focus on the gravity-defying jumps which, although they were always a staple of the games, feel a little out of place here. Some of the CGI stuff comes across as rough around the edges too, understandable I suppose given that there's still a long way to go until the release date, but it does hurt the trailer a bit.
  5. It's a really interesting discussion, albeit one where positions of super-defensiveness are almost always likely to be taken on both sides of the argument. While I too don't doubt that the body positivity movement was created with decent intentions, I also can't help wondering whether unconditional acceptance of one's own body is, in its own way, just as unrealistic and unattainable as the so-called 'mainstream' beauty ideal. I don't agree with stoking guilt about not having unwavering confidence any more than not being thin.
  6. This should be pretty good. The trailer makes it look exactly like what I'd expect and want a Punisher show to look like, so I hope it delivers. Hope they don't try too hard to shoehorn The Hand in there somehow.
  7. Marvel's The Punisher Release Date: November 17, 2017 Marvel's The Punisher is an upcoming American television series created for Netflix by Steve Lightfoot, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films and other television series of the franchise, and is a spin-off of Marvel's Daredevil. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios, with Lightfoot serving as showrunner. The series revolves around Frank Castle, who uses lethal methods to fight crime, with Jon Bernthal reprising the role from Daredevil. Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson also star. A television series centered on the Punisher received a put-pilot commitment at Fox in 2011, but that project fell through. In June 2015, Bernthal was cast as the character to appear in the second season of Daredevil. Development on a spin-off titled The Punisher began by January 2016, before the second season of Daredevil was released. In April 2016, Marvel and Netflix ordered the series, confirmed Bernthal's involvement, and announced Lightfoot as executive producer and showrunner. Filming began in New York City in October 2016, and concluded in April 2017. Synopsis Frank Castle, known throughout New York City as "the Punisher" after exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his family, uncovers a larger conspiracy beyond what was done to him and his family. Cast Jon Bernthal - Frank Castle Jason R. Moore - Curtis Hoyle Ebon Moss-Bachrach - David Lieberman Michael Nathanson - Sam Stein Jaime Ray Newman - Sarah Lieberman Amber Rose Revah - Dinah Madani Paul Schulze - Rawlins Daniel Webber - Lewis Walcott Deborah Ann Woll - Karen Page Kobi Frumer - Zach Lieberman Ripley Sobo - Leo Lieberman Kelli Barrett - Maria Castle Ben Barnes - Billy Russo Aidan Pierce Brennan - Frank Castle Jr. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio - Marion James
  8. Everyone, another reminder. For general DiCaprio-related discussion (rumours, love life, gossip etc), please do me a huge favour and go to the designated topic instead of this one.

The mention of Sin City got me thinking about Devon Aoki too. She always had that brilliantly deadpan expression, which was great for modelling and even better for her role as Miho.

I'd never seen or heard of her before, but as it turns out, she's the proud owner of a decent-sized thread in our models section.
  11. It's hard not to wonder about those people who, having spent ages banging on about Merkel "trying to achieve what Hitler couldn't", are now cheering the rise in popularity of a bunch of actual neo-Nazis. And whether or not the irony of that would be lost on them. For what it's worth though, I can see AfD going the way of the UKIPs over the next few years. As soon as they're no longer able to hide behind generic platitudes, their personalities will generate enough aversion to phase them out again.

The best one I myself can bring to mind at the moment is Gemma Ward in an Australian film called The Black Balloon. I was pretty neutral on Gemma beforehand, but her performance in this made me a fan.

Partially inspired by Cara Delevingne, who you may remember from such films as Suicide Squad and Valerian. Looking at her IMDB page, she's had a few other castings over the last couple of years, although I don't recognise many of the titles so I'm not altogether sure of how big they were. Anyway, leaving aside the more obvious fashion-centric fare of things like Zoolander or Neon Demon, what are some other movies with models that most people mightn't otherwise know about and most importantly, were they any good?
  14. Welp, it sounds like the show may already be cancelled as apparently, they've started listing the first season as a complete story.

The early rounds of the League Cup are always a great opportunity for young hopefuls to grasp the nettle and certainly, no-one can accuse the lad Musonda of not doing exactly that. Perhaps needless to say, a lot of prospects have come and gone from Chelsea in recent years, but he seems especially determined to make it and honestly, I think he's in with a chance.

We now have our Tomb Raider poster in all its weirdly Photoshopped glory, with the first teaser expected to be upon us tomorrow morning.
  18. Charlie Brooker winning was a surprise but a really, really brilliant surprise. Great to see Riz Ahmed's career seemingly going from strength to strength too.

I would expect Redknapp Sr to join the ranks at Sky Sports now in fairly short order, they'll be needing someone to provide analysis on why Harry Kane should win the Ballon D'or. My money is still just about on a middle-order Scottish side being the Chosen One's next destination, although it's hard to rule out the possibility of him convincing some desperate Championship chairman that he was just the guy left holding the parcel when we finally got ourselves relegated. Out of the frying pan and into the fire springs to mind, for all concerned.

If they've got any sense, Birmingham will go out and get Harry Redknapp to replace Harry Redknapp. After miraculously avoiding relegation with Spurs in the year they took just two points from their first eight games, this would be a breeze for him.

I suppose to be fair, Del Toro's team created such a fantastic costume that a more drastic departure might have just looked like change for the sake of change, but I honestly thought that they might have been tempted to give Hellboy glowing eyes, like he has in the books.
  22. That's fine, I went ahead and merged the accounts. If you run into issues with your log-in details in the future, please try to let us know what's going on before creating a second profile. If you no longer wish to be a part of the forum, that's fine too, but I'm afraid it's our policy not to delete accounts. Continuity is vitally important to us and we don't want past content disappearing. With regard to the posts happening in error, it sounds like something the boss should probably be made aware of. If you have a moment, you could post the details here or drop me a message and I'll pass the information on to him. Thanks.

Urgh. I'd always hoped that an appreciation of The Smiths was the only thing I shared with Joey 'Joseph' Barton.

I wonder if perhaps we can expect to see Benteke taking the corners on Saturday?
