The problems at Sunderland obviously go far deeper than Grayson, but when you can't get a home win against the only side below you in the league, I suppose you can't really have many complaints about being shown the door. And while I'm not daft enough to expect the current squad to be pushing for promotion, staying comfortably clear of the bottom three certainly shouldn't be beyond them. In the long run though, it would seem that the club is going to need new ownership for anything to really change, preferably with the remit of rebuilding, writing off all the dead wood and getting a decent manager who has time to work.

Having heard a lot of good things, I scooped a copy as soon as I found a decent deal. Loved everything about it apart from when you had to take on the human bandits, which compared to the super fun machine fights, seemed a bit on the pedestrian side. Still, a strong contender for game of the year.- Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
So, the basic gist of the reviews so far is that if you liked what you saw in the trailers, you'll have a blast with the movie. I'll reserve judgement until I've seen it of course, but it's certainly encouraging to hear that Taika Waititi got to tell a Marvel story in his own style. The Planet Hulk stuff is apparently very well done, too.- Justice League (2017)

After a certain amount of time had elapsed, you'd probably have to say that it wouldn't be too hard for Richardson to present himself as a reformed character and try to get hired again. The question would then be, if he genuinely stopped abusing his position, would he be accepted as a working photographer again, or has enough happened in the past to ensure that he should stay gone.- Supergirl
On a slightly different note, could anyone clear up whether Lena is aware of Kara's 'secret' identity for me? I was under the impression that she wasn't, but there was a line about Mon El this week that made me do a double take.- Supergirl
I'm two episodes as well, and appreciating the slower pace so far. They have to keep things fairly accessible to a family audience, but I like the fact that they're dealing with some tricky themes. At the same time though, the show still feels like itself even when it's not having as much fun with the material, which is a neat trick.- Football

Even within the context of an industry notorious for valuing end product over basic decency, this is pretty shocking. If the editorial was indeed published without Sara's consent and violation of a written "no nudity" agreement, Lui fully deserves to be raked over the coals.- Marvel's The Punisher
Turns out we don't have long to wait for this to arrive on Netflix, it was confirmed today that all the episodes will be released in the middle of November. The second full trailer just dropped too.- Marvel's The Punisher
Certainly no bad thing, although the absence of Rosario Dawson from the cast list has disappointed me a bit.- Supergirl
A fairly low-key opening to S3 I thought, but the overall ambition of the show continues to impress. The opening sequence involving the truck and gatling gun was really nicely done and the entire submarine scene quietly accomplished.- Black Panther (2018)
The first official trailer is here.- Football
I'm no great lover of Man City and of course there's a heck of a long way to go this season, but we're probably witnessing some of the most entertaining football of the Premier League era from their current side, right up there with the best of Ferguson and Wenger's teams and possibly even better. Compare and contrast that with watching Jose's United, which at times is like being locked in solitary confinement.- Gotham

How insane would it be if Hollywood (allegedly the Babylon of the western world) was to demonstrate a stronger ethical code than the GOP, who refused to dump the Donald after his own history of molesting women became too obvious to cover up.- Football
We could do with an international lucky losers squad for Russia 2018, made up of talented players let down by inferior teammates. Pulisic, Bale, Robben, Vidal, Sanchez and Aubemeyang for starters. Big Jozy and Steven Fletcher as co-captains, obviously.- Marvel's The Inhumans
Finally got around to watching a bit of it. I wouldn't say it was a trainwreck by any means, just underwhelming and very pedestrian. The dialogue is very stilted, with a lot of the cast sounding too similar in tone and vocabulary, and the script doesn’t really seem to allow for anyone to cut loose or show real character. I did quite like Maximus, but that made me realise how much I was going to struggle with the story, because I couldn't really fault the reasoning for his coup. It's never a good sign when your villain seems more genuine than your heroes.- Models in Movies
For reasons not altogether clear to me at the time, Alessandra Ambrosio had a 'blink and you'll miss it' cameo in Casino Royale, although there was very little in the way of actual acting required.- Models in Movies
Her thread here at BZ suggests a career that never really took off, in both modelling and acting. Not sure why though, she strikes me as someone who probably could have done a lot more if she'd wanted it.- Models in Movies
I vaguely remember hearing that she was pregnant at the time of filming Sin City 2. The kind of thing that happens when you wait nine years between connected films, I guess. Not that I dislike Jamie Chung of course (quite the opposite), but given my ultimate pick for a replacement Miho, I would have gone for Rila Fukushima. Like Devon, she has that taciturn look off to a fine art. Perhaps they could cast her for the third movie in 2023. - I want to change my nickname/username - READ FIRST POST PRIOR TO REQUESTING
