Personally I always find plastic surgery done to the cheekbones very creepy. It's almost like she asked for Carla Bruni's cheekbones.

Bill Burr's comedy is so one-note. Basically it's all "Middle-aged dude yelling at clouds" type material. Funny in small doses but it gets old quick.

Is anyone watching this? I have to say that my expectations going in were limited because I'm not Damon Lindelof's biggest fan. Surprisingly this has been a very good TV show, continuing to build upon the universe originally created by Alan Moore and somehow expanding and even improving upon it. The sixth episode was especially great, perhaps the best hour of TV I have seen all year long.

Lucas used so much fascist imagery for his Empire that you can't claim that the original trilogy was free from politics.

I don't think this latest trilogy is particularly good but it's not worse than the prequels. In essence, Star Wars gave us 2.5 good movies in forty plus years.

I think the other part of it was the fact that Lucas was not always the sole proprietor of the EU IP. So if Disney wanted to use some of that stuff, they would have to share the sweet sweet dough with other people/companies. And the mouse company does not share. Not if it doesn't have to.

They are giving the VSFS much more credit than it deserves. It was a-once-a-year TV special with an ever dwindling audience, partially due to changing times, partially due to the company's mishandling of the event (arguably starting in the late noughties). But to give this solitary event so much credit/blame for body issues with teenaged girls is a bit preposterous imho.
