This is extremely common in sports. A lot of people are going to dislike a team that has continued success (the same is true with athletes in individual sports). I'm not sure that it's good or bad, it's just one of the effects of success.

Also, Futurama had one of the best finales for a program. I wanted to pick a scene from that episode, but didn't find one quickly. Poor Kyle.
