It's not a strange thing to hear these days that "Rock is dead" or that "Rock is dying". I couldn't disagree more, and there's lots of new bands out there making awesome music and revitalizing the genre. Some are going back to the origins with a more retro sound though still sounding fresh, while others push boundaries exploring new sounds. Both points of view with some great artists making noise. I'll start with one of my favorites bands of this era: Rival Sons From their latest album released last year: Open My Eyes I love their retro sound and that Led Zeppelin - Bluesy vibe they have.

Let's kick off 2023 with a new game This will follow the same principle of "The Cover Or The Original?" but it will be much more general. For each round we will face two different versions of the same song. But it doesn't have to be the original vs a cover version. It can be 2 different covers, none being the original; or it can be an early career version vs a late career version by the same artist... or the studio recording vs a live performance... or two different live performances... you name it! It's all valid as long as it is the same song. Same as in "The Cover Or The Original", the next participant will choose which version they prefer …

We have a thread for guitarists, bassists and singers... But we were lacking one for the rhythmic base! Those who keep the rhythm and the tempo, the backbone of any Rock, Pop, Funk, Soul, Blues, Jazz, etc band you can think of. We were missing on the drummers! Not anymore! It's time to give recognition to those who create magic with the rhythm behind the drum set (and sometimes other percussions)! So I invite to post your favorite drummers here!
