Glitz, glam, and everything in between. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion show descended upon us once again and everyone on Bellazon (and all across the globe) lost their minds. Every year the show sets to top itself with even more supermodels, more performers and even more diamonds. Here is a quick look at everything you need to know about the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The Outfits
This year the show had many segments including: Celestial Angels, Golden Girls, Rebel Angels, Downtown Angels, and VS x Mary Katrantzou. The models showed off this seasons latest mainline and Pink lingerie designs decked out in sky high heels and angel wings. This catwalk was a bittersweet one as it also marked Adriana Lima’s final strut on the VS runway after working for the brand for over 15 years.
The Performers
Every year the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show hires some of the top in the music business to walk (and sing) alongside their angels. This year’s show was especially jam packed with 8 performers, one for each segment. Halsey, Rita Ora, The Chainsmokers and Shawn Mendes were just some of the star studded performers. Former performer The Weeknd sat in the audience cheering on girlfriend, and rumored fiance, Bella Hadid. The former couple had a somewhat awkward encounter last year with the model walking in a segment performed by the singer during their breakup.
The Drama
Just before the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion show castings began, rumors began to swirl that Gigi Hadid no longer had a good relationship with the brand. The year prior the model was noticeably absent from the runway at the 2017 Shanghai show after a racially insensitive video of the model leaked online. The model returned to the runway this year with many fans criticizing the brand after making the decision. Hadid stated in regards to the controversy: “It hurts me to hurt anyone, and I want you to know it was never my intent to hurt anyone through my actions and I sincerely apologize.”
