^ I would say education is the root of a lot of the issues we have today! It's played a big factor as to why Trump is in office and why Hilary was able to get the nomination in her party. So uneducated would not be too far a word to use here. I truly think this country will have some sort of civil war down the road IF things don't turn around. Maybe it's time we split our vast country down the lines and have those who believe in one certain construct/ideology keep to their side and those who want to progress forward in another. These past short years have opened my eyes at how utterly evil many in the Republican party are towards those in need. And yes I know I shouldn't paint everyone in the same light, but the fact there are a huge number of these individuals in our country means one side needs to start standing up to those who support this planets well being alongside humanity vs the idea of capitalism and "every man for himself" mentality that is very pervasive with conservatism and yes, liberalism to some extent. I've chatted with and heard enough to know that one ideology in this current country of ours is the current danger to our planets well being :ninja:

Actually no.  With the people I know, they were educated the same way as you but they completely reject the liberal/socialist biased things that they were taught in secondary, university and pursued non mainstream strains of thinking.  The main difference is choice and preferences.  How are people with masters, law degrees, etc. mentally incompetent?

It's a philosophical difference.  The left is infatuated with equalism and environmentalism, the right is more about patriotism and individualism.

The Great Recession was also a major factor, as the poor performance in Europe discredited the liberal European systems a great deal.  The Right wing jumped on this and said : "See! We were right all along".  This went on for years.

The $15 min wage would work IMHO.  There would be a lot of job losses though.

I have just received proposals from " Our Revolution " ....

Medicare for All - College for All - $ 15 Minimum Wage - Women's Healthcare Rights - Automatic Voter Registration - Ending Private Prison - Wall Street Tax - 100% Renewable Energy -

You're talking about over 60% of the US economy here undergoing radical change by govt' force...Revolution indeed.  Will a Red Guard be needed?

Bernie Sanders is highly ridiculous, even more than Trump.

$15 minimum wage will inflate the prices of goods & services to counteract the minimum wage increase. Unions and the like will seek higher salaried wages and so forth. Then we will be right back to where we started and will reduce the purchasing power of the dollar even further while roughly the percentage of money spent for goods & services would stay the same.

I'm all for helping struggling families on minimum wage jobs, but it will cycle and cycle and cycle.

Poor Spicer took the fall. I knew he would end up completely destroying his reputation by trying to defend Trump and his administration with whatever he could come up with.

ANYONE who supports Trump at this point is willing to sacrifice their integrity and well, coming into it, they should know full well that will be part of the possible "art of the deal" :hehe:

The real tragedy in this is that we'll no longer get to have Melissa McCarthy play him on SNL.  Although, I'm not sure which was more entertaining, watching her spoof his press conferences or watch him trying to truth to fit whatever narrative Trump wanted put forward.  :D

@ILUVAdrianaLima I am pretty sure he was fired bc Trump has been throwing shade and hinting he is firing Spicey for quite awhile. They probably said he resigned to give him some dignity, and not make the administration look worse bc they've fired quite a few people. The fact there are still spots open in the administration doesn't look good either.

Hopefully they find someone as entertaining as McCarthy to take on the new press conferences.  Still slightly disappointed, though, as this was the first time that I'd really found McCarthy all that funny.  Really liked her work in this particular role.  :D

There is NO dignity left in all of this for sure  But as @VS19 has mentioned, that means no more McCarthy to take on the new press conferences

Small businesses throughout the USA (which generate most of the low end jobs and job growth & tend to live hand to mouth) will just hire less people.  I do agree that $15 will result in more unions being formed (like in Germany, France, and other european countries) leading to higher prices for the consumer.  Corporations would have less profit, and thus less growth.  And also slower consolidation and advancement of industries.
