^Messi was found guilty of tax fraud, he doesn't have to serve his sentence though.

He paid his dues by losing the WC final & 2 Copa finals.

I would like to see Cristiano Ronaldo get to hold up the trophy at the end. Yes, he can be controversial, divides opinions but no one denies how talented he is.

France winning at home would be good in terms of the audience at the stadium etc. but I feel that Griezmann has contributed a little too much to Frances’s success since the tournament is supposed to be about determining the best team.

I'm indifferent towards CR7. I want to like him because he's such a phenomenal player, but he negates that with his on pitch antics and stupid comments he makes.

I'm not a fan of this Portugal team especially Nani & Pepe, those two can get bent.

Didn’t he say something like Iceland was celebrating like they had won the tournament after the game between Portugal and Iceland ended with a tie?

I wonder if he has a different opinion now after this HUH! chant has become a thing among other fans and players as well. :D

Yep!

“Iceland only tried to defend ... they had two chances then did not try to score,” Ronaldo said, per Daily Mirror columnist Ed Maylon. “They celebrated like they had won the Euro cup or something. That's a small mentality. That's why they'll do nothing.”

His comments after the Iceland game were really silly and there's no question that he perpetuates his own stereotypes, but without that personality and those traits, I think he'd be roughly on the level of Nani. A player with outstanding natural talent who doesn't possess the work ethic or the consistency to achieve greatness. Ronaldo's ego is what drives him and will likely carry on driving him until he retires.

@jj3 What is the meaning behind Griezmann sucking his thumb after he scores a goal?

That's a good question ... I'm not sure, but his whole celebration remind me the one from Ronaldinho:D

What about his main celebratory move? Is it like “Call me!”?

@Sanni @jj3

I believe Griezmann's thumb sucking thing is because he has a baby daughter. The first part is meant to be a tribute to Drake's 'Hotline Bling' video. Somehow, some way, he created a worse dancing celebration than Daniel Sturridge.

Very true, but a little class goes a long way.

Haha, thank you! I’ve seen some parts of the music video but never really paid attention to the choreography.

Also very true. It’s not even so much that he thinks he's great, rather the thought that he might not be just never seems to occur to him. Still, in an era where so many players are so dull and characterless, here's a guy who always brings entertainment. Be it through the raw dynamism and exhilaration of his game or his other, shall we say, eccentricities.

OTOH even more so

This is supposed to be the move, although Griezmann seems to do it with a little less gusto.

@Michael* Haha, I didn’t watch the whole video, I just looked for the chorus and I think I saw that exact moment.

It’ll be exciting to see Ronaldo vs. Griezmann. I’m guessing one of them will win the player of the tournament award based on which team will win.

It’s fun to watch two star players on opposing teams because they stand out among their teammates due to their exceptional skills yet only one can be in the winning team. (Like Ronaldo vs. Bale.)

Although I think Griezmann has been really vital to France being in the finals, I give credit to the defense players as well for their performance especially during the second half of the Germany vs. France semi-final.
