I was already sold on Tom Hardy as Max, but aside from CGI that comes across as looking a little bit rough at times, the overall feel of the trailer is superb. It helps that the originator of the character is on board and directing.

I don't know, I do think some of the action sequences are a bit over the top for Max.

With that I mean, they were too obviously CGI-ed.

I strongly associate the Mad Max franchise with old-school, nuts and bolts action.

After seeing The Road Warrior again last week and watching the trailer posted above it looks like a fairly close remake.

Seems to be missing one of the best characters though. "The Feral Kid"

For the time being, I'm putting it down as a win that it still has the feel of a Miller product. Even with the bigger effects (some of the things they did in '79 and '81 probably wouldn’t be legal on the set of a movie today ), it looks as visceral and as much of a singular vision as each of the originals were, and that low-angle shot of the dusty road at the beginning is Max through and through.

Supposedly, the scenes we've seen up to now are mostly taken from two particular sequences, should be interesting to see if they go as big for the remainder of the running time.

I've never seen any of the original Mad Max's..but I was completely taken into this world. I don't mind all the CGI (looks really well done btw) I love being taken to a whole new dark world/atmosphere. Even though it takes place on earth. :hehe:I was completely involved and blown away by a trailer, I hope that's a good indication as to how the movie is going to be.

I loved this comment on youtube under the trailer. Edited for BZ cussing purposes.

"F$&K Yeah. The movie"

I spotted Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Abbey Lee Kershaw in the trailer.

Yeah I haven't seen any of the old ones either but this trailer definitley sold me so I might check some of the original movies out. I just hope the movie is as good or even better as the trailer made it seem.

The original Mad Max movies will always be the best, I think they hold a special place in the hearts of Australians. Not too keen on this one. Not a Tom fan and the movie looks like it's about him saving/protecting some models trying to act?  :idk:

Trailer looks so impossibly, amazingly badass.

Not sure if this is still the case but I had originally heard that they were taking the 'Superman Returns' route, in that the events of this new one are supposed to slot somewhere into the original timeline. I'm guessing between the events of the first two movies, because they've put the Interceptor on one of the posters.

Abbey Lee Kershaw has come off worst in the character naming stakes though, I know that.

Love the whole feel of the trailer. Looks like a singular vision made real, from the costumes to the color palette they've used in post-production. Continues to build on my now-high hopes for the movie. :ddr:
