Yea its strange, it would appear Apache couldnt talk to Mysql for whatever reason. After bouncing apache all was well.

Anyways I am reviewing my monitoring (which calls my cell phone if something is broken) to figure out why it didnt alert me.

OK i figured out why I didnt get called. It essentially was set to only alert on "no content" but since technically it said "DB ERROR" that counted as content I have changed the policy to call me if it doesnt find specific keywords.
