I love the season 4 promos, Michonne & Daryl :dance:

I feel like the Govenor won't make a physical apperance, but his presence will be there, then he'll be back with a bang at the end of the season

Great episode tonight! Way better then how season 3 started imo
Daryl + Beth = needs to happen soon. They are just too good together.

Here it's going to be aired tomorrow.

Nice to know it was a good episode, since I began to loose some interest in the show during the last season. I hope things got better now.

“The Walking Dead” is officially devouring the rest of television.

 

The horror drama on AMC shattered its own ratings records for cable programs on Sunday night, with the premiere of its fourth season. At the same time, it surpassed everything else that has been on television this season so far in its appeal to the viewers sought by most advertisers, those between the ages of 18 and 49.

 

The premiere was seen by 16.1 million viewers, far surpassing the show’s previous record for cable entertainment programs, which was 12.4 million viewers. (By contrast the finale of “Breaking Bad” reached 10.3 million.) “Dead” attracted 10.4 million viewers in that 18-to-49 group — an enormous total even surpassing any N.F.L. game this season.

 

To illustrate the supremacy “Walking Dead” has achieved, its rating in the 18-to-49 category was an 8.2. The top score by any other entertainment show this season came during the first night of “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS, when the special episode at 8:30 p.m. reached a 6.1 rating in the 18-to-49 group.

“Walking Dead” managed this despite the presence Sunday night of two potent sports attractions, NBC’s regular “Sunday Night Football” game and a thrilling postseason baseball game between the Tigers and the Red Sox.

 

Even the show’s talk-show companion series, “Talking Dead,” posted numbers most networks would covet: 5.1 million viewers and a 2.6 rating in the 18-to-49 category.

 

Before Sunday night, every top-rated show this season had been an N.F.L. game. Now zombies are apparently more appealing than quarterbacks.

Wow those ratings are insane.

finally got a chance to see it, and I was impressed It was definetly better than some of the latter half of the episodes from Season 3! this episode also left off with a pretty intense/interesting cliffhanger

I'm a little late, but I watched season 4 ep 1 today.

Very good start for this season! I agree: much better than good part of last season's second half. I liked the ending too.

Tomorrow maybe I'll watch the second ep.

'Walking Dead' Renewed for Season Five by AMC

 

Awesome news for all of the fans of The Walking Dead – the show has been renewed for a fifth season by AMC!

The news was pretty much inevitable as the zombie series has established itself as the number one show across all television networks. The season four premiere hit a record high of 16.1 million viewers.

“We are very happy to make what has to be one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever:The Walking Dead is renewed for a fifth season,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president in a statement. “This is a show that has erased traditional distinctions between cable and broadcast. Its expanding base of passionate fans has grown every season, most recently – and most notably – with the season four premiere earlier this month, which broke viewership records for the series and became the biggest non-sports telecast in cable history. On behalf of the incredible team on both sides of the camera, thank you to the fans and here’s to more Dead.”

So I finally caught up and am current, and WOW this season is WAYYY better than season 3, so far it almost trumps season 2 (IMO)

"The Walking Dead" Spin Off Is Official!

Variety reports that AMC announced Monday morning that it is developing a companion series to its hit show, “The Walking Dead.”

The proposed new series would come from “Walking Dead” comics creator Robert Kirkman and executive producers Gale Anne Hurd and Dave Alpert.

The companion series has a target on-air date of 2015.

"The Walking Dead" Spinoff Could Be A Prequel

 

Since AMC officially announced plans for a spinoff to “The Walking Dead”, speculation has run ramped as to what they’ll do with the new series. For one, they need a brand new writing staff, and better actors (especially considering how good the characters are in the Robert Kirkman comic).

According to TVLine there’s increasing buzz that the offshoot will be a prequel of sorts, one that would chronicle the early days of the epidemic and the effort to contain it. This seems like the obvious choice, although that would make me wonder what the “end game” would be (what’s the overall arc?)

In addition, IGN caught up with series creator Robert Kirkman, who reveals some early insight into what we may see in the new series he promises won’t be “selling out”.

“It’s a really different location with completely different people, so we are going to see an entirely different corner of the ‘Walking Dead’ world,” Kirkman explains. “It definitely won’t be set in Georgia, I can at least say that.

“It’s important to us that this show exists on its own. The spinoff has to be a show worthy of existing, or else we’ve all sold out. So that’s something we’re all working hard towards doing, and I think we can pull it off. I think that the ideal situation is, when you’re watching the spinoff, you’re like, “Wow, this is a really awesome show.” The whole other show doesn’t need to exist for this show to be cool and stand on its own.”

I am sure about one thing, Carole did not kill the 2 people. She knows who killed them and protect that person (My bet is on the little girl who fed the walkers with rats)

Amazing mid season finale indeed!

I didn't think of the possibility of Carol protecting the one who killed those 2. It sounds plausible, that little girl is kind of strange.
