Eras is higher quality imo

It seems to me that teen/early 20s girls make up a massive part of her fanbase. At least this is the group I've encountered the most, especially online.

I haven't seen Reputation yet but it's on youtube.  (just heard some opinions, don't know if it's true for most people).

There are estimates claiming that there could be 60 million swifties in the US, which rivals the population of France LOL.

This is why there is speculation that swifties could shift the election in Harris' favor if their fuhrer gives the orders!

These songs Evermore & Ivy were among the best in the album imho.  Very well written.  Interesting to see that Taylor left it out- it may be because of the 'heavy' subject matter.  Evermore is about deep depression and Ivy is about cheating.   She also left out the flagship song 'Red' of the 'Red Album for some reason?

Honestly, I have no idea. I haven't heard of it. :idk:

I know many people are outraged because of the ceremony (with the drag queens, obese people and all the weirdo stuff), but I haven't heard about this diet thing.

There are also lots of people outraged about the Algerian boxer, who is a dude and who competed in the women category (despite him having XY chromosomes).

It didn't help that two of the female boxers basically looked like men (regardless of gender)

It is one of the best new videos I watch in my Life. It is elegant, psychological, horror and do It with well manners.

Me too, I let It in the high school butbI am revising and understand his music and videos. Sometimes he IS fun.

I think he could be a great father 🤣

I trained (private tutor and was 2nd chair in a big HS orchestra) semi-seriously in the violin growing up, I am personally more into instrumental music without lyrics because lyrics tend to 'bind' the experience to a particular interpretation.  Rarely in pop, rock, & rap do those people write anything that resonates with me personally.

I saw he got to talk at the DNC.

The truly crazy thing is, Epstein himself would probably be on this picture, only the probation period on his conviction hadn't yet run out, which prevented him from traveling.

Honestly I don't remember anything that happened in season one. Hope they kick off the new season with a long recap.

according to the Silmarillion Sauron is a shapeshifter that turns into an Elf to corrupt everyone (so there should be a lot of creepy stuff & manipulation)

Sounds great  I also think Charlie Vickers is capable to pull this off as an actor (not an unimportant detail lol).

The Simarillion is a history book made from Tolkein's notes- meaning that what Sauron did is there but there is very little characterization (like Fire & Blood/ House of the Dragon).  This means that the showrunners will do what they want to do...

Vickers basically was cosplaying as someone else in S1 so I guess it will be more of the same, but in the Elf-style.

But other than in season 1 this time the audience know he's Sauron. I hope this knowledge will bring a different/fresh dynamic to the interpretation of the character. It would be rather lazy repeating just the same in elf style.

lol

Interesting gifs...

IMHO  I believe that Tolkien's concept for Sauron is most likely Satan from Paradise Lost.   Tolkein was a devout Christian and for British people, particularly the educated Paradise Lost was a definitive depiction of what their philosophical understanding of Satan or unrestrained evil was.

Satan was meant to be charismatic demagogue and likeable person by his followers but unrestrained in his desires, and rejection of the concept of evil- in which he becomes more and more unrestrained until in the end he physically becomes more snakelike than the glorious archangel he was.

The Christian idea is that Satan was originally a servant of God but found his lack of freedom oppressive and questions' God's authority & his rules.  By doing so he questions the very concept of morality- and rejects it.   Instead craves unlimited freedom to do whatever he wants.  This is in the road to hell.

IIRC from Simarillion Sauron is described by Tolkein a bit like that, but it's history/lore notes so we don't know for sure.

I'm sure that Tolkein scholars already pinpointed where the character originated from.

If they go this route with ROP S2 then Charlie has to play a challenging role- not everyone can be charismatic or even learn how to be.

Come to think of it the idea of a gradual increase in evil is something that would work well in ROP.

Re-watching ALIENS in 4K/modernized after not seeing the film for ages (maybe 12+ years?).

interesting and different experience.  I found the characters caricature-like, but fun.  It's the perfect sci-fi action film filled with cool props and sets.  And it spawned an entire ecosystem and franchise.

But I appreciate the original Alien a lot more than I do now.  I like how many details of human interaction it packs on screen- just more authenticity than in Aliens.  Also the iconic interior of the NOSTROMO.  I'm starting to be more of the mind that making the Alien a space-bug really cheapened the sense of mystery and potential of the first Alien.

The one Alien in Alien is as intimidating as a swarm of them in the second film- and it's more interesting as a space mystery rather than a space bug.

In ALIENS, the Alien becomes something that a human being with a military-grade weapon can destroy with a short-burst while the crew of the Nostromo struggle with jerry-rigged equipment against one of them.

I think survival horror is much better when the protagonists are badly equipped rather than at rambo-level.

It is also notable that the alien at the end of Alien shows an entirely different temperament than before.  It is deliberately kept vague and mysterious but that actually makes the Alien more interesting than just a relentless killing machine.
