No I didn't get to hear this supposed leo interview that was on Adrenaline radio. I Listened for 15 minutes then I had to leave my computer so for all I know they could have gotten to Leo. Though with the way things were going I have a hard time believing they were ever going to get to a Leo interview :)

In regards to box office. 18 million seemed t

oo good to be true but like I said 12.5 would still be great!

tweet from " an award-winning writer and photographer at the Observer-Reporter newspaper in Washington, Pa. "

@ @ggconti The movie is a bit long and some of the aging makeup is a stretch, but Dicaprio nails J. Edgar.

Hopefully I'll get to see the movie myself tommorrow! Then I can judge for myself... but i'm expecting an A+ performance from Leo and rightfully so :p

Hmmmm interesting info about Madalina.... So I think we can guess they are dating. Vogue said they had pics of them coming right? I NEED THOSE PICS NOW! :p And about Danny A, I guess that could be a possibility, but unlikely. Because remeber the vid when she was asked about leo and gave the "I don't want to talk about it" answer? I don't think she would say that if she was just dating Danny

Thanks girls!! Also thanks for the Django news. Seriously, Django is going to be so badass :p I can't wait!

Oh and I forgot to thank for the tweets Ox and fash! I would post more tweet sightings and stuff if I had a faster computer. So I thank you all for doing it for me :p

Leonardo DiCaprio says he doesn't act thinking about Oscar

Los Angeles, United States

It is no longer the boy who had been nominated for an Oscar at just 19 years. And has already been 14 years since he starred in the blockbuster "Titanic." On November 11, Leonardo DiCaprio turned 37 years and maturity is reflected in his work, especially with the new movie "J. Edgar "where is postulated as one of the new favorites for Oscar that he never won

After three nominations and no Oscar Is it Time to win?

In my experiences with the Oscar I learned that I have absolutely no control and I can not do anything about the opinions people may have about my work. That's the truth. I can only go to promote my film hoping that people like it or respond in a way that is going to answer when deciding to vote. Who knows what can happen? I appreciate you talking about, but in the end, really, I have no control over what can happen.

Do you dream to win at least?

I do not think anyone can say he does not want to have an Oscar. They would be lying, but it's not my motivation when I perform that kind of roles. Really motivates me to work with great people, creating a body of work in which you can then look back with pride.

How do you remember the first Oscar nomination nearly 20 years ago?

At first I could not believe. I really did not understand what was happening. That's what I remember the astonishment of the whole experience. My mother was incredibly excited, as my father. he asked, "Do you realize what just happened?". And I answered with a simple "I guess so." But really, I did not understand the magnitude of through something and when I went to the Oscars I was too shy. That's what I remember. I well remember how shy I was at the ceremony.

How difficult was the third time when you couldn't win with "Blood Diamond"? Is the image that we see on the screen, when neither reacts angrily to win, is pure performance?

To tell you the truth I have never had any expectation of winning. I don't think so.

Does the Oscar would drop the cup that you needed to achieve absolute personal glory?

I guess it all depends on the motivations of each one. Personal glory is working on what I love so much. I know that all careers past fly and I know that some time will not have the opportunities that I have now.

I try to take advantage, but personal glory is not something that can actually achieve. I do not think that makes anyone happy. It has been proven over and over again. When I had my first opportunity to work in film, at age 15, for a year and a half, I spent watching the best movies I could. At then I considered the idea of emulating the kind of art teacher that had been in the past of cinema. That's really my motivation. I feel I want to do something as good as my heroes has done.

What is the true story behind the name Leonardo DiCaprio? Is it true that you have registered the copyright for DiCaprio?

(Laughs). Copyright ¿? I do not think that is true, at best I must have done something for my website. But it is true that Leonardo DiCaprio is my real name.

Is it true that his mother called Leonardo Leonardo da Vinci?

Supposedly yes.

As a movie star, you sometimes feel you have much more power than the FBI?

No, certainly not.God! I do not know anyone who does not have a fear of the FBI. That's what happened with J. Hoover because he really transformed the idea of the legal system in our country. Before it was a bit like the Wild West, where people robbed banks, and crossed the border and were free men. There was a communist uprising and he got all red in the country and formed a federal system where no one could cross state lines. He swept with all the bad guys.

Since then they can investigate your life, see if you're doing something wrong and the kind of criminal activity that you are involved. he created a force of police systems more powerful and successful in the world. Also created the fingerprint system and changed everything in this country, to the point of thinking that the FBI may be investigating every step we take. Neither we can deny that many of the changes made at the beginning of his career were positive, although there were others that I don't agree to anything. But transformed the country and what he did is incredible.

Over three wars and eight presidencies, J. Edgar Hoover remained fifty years at the command of the U.S. FBI. And someone who gave so much value to the secrets of others, the film attempts to reveal his own, exploring the personal and public life of a man who devoted his entire career to seek justice from the darker side of power. With all the factors and an Oscar nomination for Best Director Clint Eastwood exposes the most famous arrests U.S. at the same time exposing some homosexual inclination Hoover long after having declared his love for his secretary (Naomi Watts in film) at the time of so many conspiracy behind the assassination of J. F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King.

the aspect most controversial that you discovered about life J. Edgar Hoover?

I guess all you have to do with the fundamentalist mindset that he had inherited of his mother.. He grew up in a home very puritanical right-wing and thoughts protected the country for eight different presidents. The man was in power longer than any other politician. He kept his ideals to think that communism was the enemy. At first he took it as a terrorist movement and that is why we started the movie with many pumps. But when the civil rights movement came,

with Martin Luther King and other leaders, Hoover thought they tried to take the Government. And that's what happens when someone is in power for so long, you lose your balance. So ended in failure later in his career, because they are not adapted to changing times. Absolute power attracts corruption and he was too long in power.

Is there something you appreciate about Hoover beyond dispute that the film shows?

I think he had good intentions and I guess he did what he did thinking he was a great patriot, but he was too ambitious.

after Having worked with great directors like Steven Spielberg or Martin Scorsese did you notice a big difference on the direction of another giant of film as Clint Eastwood?

He is one of the director with more instinct that I know. It's like a general, he sits against the wall with your monitor, look at you straight in the eye and is the best barometer of truth. Looking for the actors to feel part of the experience, living each moment, experiencing what the character experiences. And there are no rehearsal or neither he have too many people around him asking what they think about a scene. he sees what it's on his monitor, it tells you exactly what he thinks and continues with the next scene. It's an amazing experience. It's great.

The best lesson that you learned from Clint Eastwood?

Collaboration is most important. This man believes in his ideas and trust your instincts, believe in what he does. And it gives you incredible confidence as an actor. If you hire for this role, you must have done a good job to be in a movie studio with him. Increases trust you, he does not try to manipulate anyone.

After you kissed the most beautiful women in Hollywood, from Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz to Jennifer Garner, Cate Blanchett or even Naomi Watts, how was the filming of "J. Edgar "when you kisses a man?

Ahhh (deep breath, he blushes and looks for a moment to answer some pause). These are things that actors do while I try to think the right way to answer the question (laughs). I was playing a character and I had to do what the character would have done. It was a very interesting scene because Clint (Eastwood) was very clear from the beginning to clarify: "It will not be a typical sequence. I want you two sticking first, go out as much blood as possible, until you want to kill himself. And in the worst moment, the kiss is coming. "I wanted to show some kind of repression, because we are talking about a time where no matter what two men felt about them, that was something they didn't dare to express at that time. And it was very interesting how (Clint Eastwood) handled it all because we reflect rather the time that some homosexuals live repressing their emotions.

Did the kiss with actor Armie Hammer helped give credibility to the homosexual side of Hoover's life?

Armie Hammer's work is fantastic in this film. Can you believe that just 25 years old? I think it really captured the relationship of a man who had a great adoration for another man, though I suppose it also hid some hatred for not being able to be like I wanted to be. He devoted his life to this man. That's the truth. Clyde Tolson dedicated his life to J. Edgar Hoover.

Did you have to rehearse the kiss or discussed the issue before shooting the scene?

We talked a lot about it. We had no rehearsal because Clint works like that, but we talked about our relationship and what it meant to them. Only after, we had our own rehearsal space, with screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.

Is one of the most uncomfortable scenes that you had to shoot?

(Laughs). That the public will have to decide

This was an interview published in Spanish and It only took me about 40 minutes to translate

thanks Barbie

the truth is that, when I read it and I wanted to show to you girls, because I seemed little bit different compared with the one that he has given recently... especially when talking about the kiss ... it seemed to me that he got a little nervous

Posted

yeah, it's a different interview. It seems the kiss was something difficult to him, but he have done before and Total Eclipse was way harder I guess.

Well, he laughed at the last question, so probably was uncomfortable.

A question, that is Kevin Connolly behind Leo, at the premiere of J edgar? I had no idea that he had attended :ermm:

I can't believe that we still have nothing of Leo's birthday party :(
