Still, I'am sure he have a voice and after all he's the one using his image to raise awareness, he's the image of the foundation.

October 2, 20195 yr Apparently some artist will present some form ( candle ?) of Leo's face next week Quote Urs Fischer’s next solo show at Gagosian gallery in Paris, which opens in two weeks, carries a one-word, three-letter title: “Leo.” A source close to the gallery tells ARTnews that the Leo in question is none other than the actor, environmentalist, and noted art collector Leonardo DiCaprio. Sculptural portraits have been a major part of Fischer’s practice for many years now, and he has depicted as wax candles a cast of characters that includes artist Julian Schnabel, collectors Peter Brant and Dasha Zhukova (for a show titled, simply, “Dasha”), and art dealer Bruno Bischofberger with his wife Yoyo. The source says that the DiCaprio piece is most likely a candle, but that is not definite. (A rep for Gagosian, for the record, has not confirmed the DiCaprio reference, and Fischer could not immediately be reached.) Fischer, who is 46, is best known for beguiling sculptures that take a formidable array of forms, from shiny mirrored cubes printed with various images, to a house made of baguettes, to a giant clay sculpture of Katy Perry that viewers were allowed to touch and rework when it was displayed in a pop-up space in Manhattan. http://www.artnews.com/2019/10/01/leonardo-dicaprio-urs-fischer-paris/ A video that goes along with NY pix from yesterday https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/preview/video/tdcefeed Barbie Tks for vid , that was one of my fave scenes as well from Once

October 2, 20195 yr Thanks Barbie, Jade, Shepherd and ox for all the pics, videos and posts! That’s probably my second favorite scene 😁
October 3, 20195 yr I rewatched Shutter Island recently. Great movie. It's probably the best movie with Scorsese/DiCaprio. Possibly one of the best DiCaprio movie (but I can't say, I haven't seen them all). What do you guys think? The staging of events is impeccable (even when you already know the story) and the rhythm is so well coordinated. Sometimes DiCaprio's character seems to be the conductor that directs the images, the sounds (including the gun noises) and the other character's reactions... Spoiler .... sometimes, he's in a sort of point/counterpoint dialogue with the real world. (Ruffalo and Kingsley's actings are real good too) Spoiler BTW, I love the soundtrack.🍀
October 4, 20195 yr Sighting of Leo at political fundraiser for Pete Buttigieg in LA Tuesday night Quote To kick-off the next fundraising period, Buttigieg was back on Tuesday in Los Angeles. He’s been able to draw a significant chunk of support from prominent showbiz figures. On Tuesday evening, he headlined a fundraiser at the home of Michael Kives, founder of the investment advisory firm K5 Global, and his wife Lydia, a civil rights lawyer. DiCaprio and Hilton were among the guests, and a source said that other attendees included Glenn Close and Ashton Kutcher. Co-hosts included MGM’s Jonathan Glickman and writer Christy Callahan; CAA’s Richard Lovett; and Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. Enrico_sw Welcome I'm a fan of SI as well. My other fave Leo/Marty movies are : The Departed, Aviator , Wolf of Wall Street
October 4, 20195 yr Hi Enrico_sw. I had to re-watch it the third time to finally appreciate the film and all the performances. The first time I went ‘this is trying too hard’, so I rewatched to get the full nuance of it, especially Leo’s performance! Thanks ox for the Leo sighting!

My other fave Leo/Marty movies are : The Departed, Aviator , Wolf of Wall Street Oh, Aviator is really a great one too! I remember when I saw it, I kept quoting it afterwards... Brilliant movie. His character has this strange duality where he's joyful/bold on one side, and also sad/compulsive on the other. It's kinda impressive how he quickly switches. I really like the senate hearing, where his ennemies corner him but he turns the tables. Spoiler His acting is impressive, he often sets the pace, and he really does in Aviator. (BTW, I like Josie Maran and her scene was quite funny!) Wolf is pretty good too, but I haven't see the Departed. What did you enjoy the most in this movie?

I caught a lot of new details when I rewatched it. This scene really blows my mind. Not just the acting and direction, but also the music. Which scene did you prefer? Spoiler
October 4, 20195 yr I can share my favorite scene enrico_sw: The scene with Jackie Earl Haley (even when I watched the first time, I started to suspect that Leo’s character was probably a patient, due to the reaction of Haley’s character, and the scars that we now know Teddy actually caused due to his physical attack). It’s really the first time you see violence in his eyes, plus it’s a turning point because his mind fully snapped, too, with the hallucinations that happened in the second half of the film. It’s been a good while since I’ve seen Shutter Island, so I’m trying to remember off hand.
October 5, 20195 yr Barbie I didn't 'see' either Leo or Jason in that pix, but, I figured it could be they showed them sitting somewhere on that row on the stadium jumbo screen.
