July 23, 20195 yr Kit Bowen @TheMovieKit · 5m Oh, Quentin Tarantino, how I love your sensibilities! He’s hit or miss with some but #OnceUponATimeInHollywood is definitely a QT winner imo. A pure love letter to Hollywood with outstanding perfs from Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.

July 23, 20195 yr Some more snippets from reviews Jade , the 65 reviews long posted at Rotten Tomatoes since Cannes = none of those reviewers 'spoiled the film ' Of the new reviews I've read since this weekend, none of those have posted 'spoilers' /detailed descriptions of any ending scenes , most have only mentioned that if you have seen his other films, such as Inglorious Basterds , you may think you know what 'generally' is going to happen, but you may find yourself surprised I would say the most consistent comments running through all the reviews , be they written by male or female writers are : The off the chart chemistry between Leo and Brad The excellence of their respective performances And the use of terms one often doesn't associate with Tarantino films = poignant , touching Now some snippets for us : Quote From EW: Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a wild, shaggy '60s thrill ride DiCaprio and Pitt are probably as good as they’ve ever been in anything: one superbly channeling the outsize ego and fragility of an actor in early-midlife spiral, the other a sort of beach-boy Lebowski with a singular gift for sudden violence. No doubt there will be uncountable baby Tarantinos watching Once Upon a Time in dark theaters and dreaming their own future Hollywood dreams; until then, he’s still one of the most original, confounding, and purely enjoyable auteurs we’ve got. A– Quote Showbiz411 This is a movie made on film! Reels have to be changed, and you can see the marks in the upper right hand corner. No one wears a cape or has a super power and there will be no sequel. But it’s a movie that will last a long, long time in audience’s memories. It’s cinema, like we used to know it. Go see this movie this weekend. It’s the best summer gift we’ve had in a long time! Quote Time Magazine Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Is One of Quentin Tarantino's Most Affectionate Films. It's Also One of His Best Quote Flickering Myth In the spirit of subverting, by now, hotly anticipated expectations, Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood is the least violent film masterful writer and director Quentin Tarantino has ever made. It’s also the funniest, standing tall as a full-blown dramedy As already mentioned, it’s unquestionably the least violent Tarantino movie, but what’s here is gruesomely satisfying. For those that love cinema, well, considering the plot dealing with fading popularity and father time (not to mention the leading stars themselves opening up winding down and how acting is a young man’s game), this could be perceived as Tarantino’s swansong and him leaving behind a goldmine of knowledge for the next generation of filmmakers. If they ever want to make a movie half as good as Tarantino has ever made, they will study Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood ears wide open and eagle-eyed.
July 23, 20195 yr Not sure where pix was taken , but you can see Leo & Al have on the clothes their characters wore in Frank & Musso’s restaurant scene
July 23, 20195 yr Another review snippet about Leo's performance Quote DiCaprio – who has given some great performances over his career, but possibly none as layered and dramatically and comedically fascinating as this – has a field day playing around with all of Rick Dalton’s innumerable insecurities. DiCaprio’s savvy depiction of Rick is of a man who can’t decide if he wants to make art, make money, or simply give up. Rick stammers and stumbles over his words and lashes out at himself whenever he thinks he has screwed up. He’s a broken man, but through DiCaprio’s portrayal, one can almost see someone who has perpetually been told by agents, casting directors, filmmakers, and his peers that he’ll never measure up to expectations. All of the best scenes in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood focus on Rick trying to overcome his insecurities and become happier with his career and social standing. Quote Rotten Tomatoes @RottenTomatoes · 24m Quentin Tarantino's #OnceUponATimeInHollywood is now #CertifiedFresh at 93% on the #Tomatometer, with 83 reviews: (link: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/once_upon_a_time_in_hollywood?cmp=TWRT_Move_OnceHollywood) rottentomatoes.com/m/once_upon_a_…
