Despite the down-market duds, the star bid $25,000 on a Roberto Dutesco piece, which he won, at the Unitas gala at Capitale.

 

Sara Sampaio and Rachel Hilbert auctioned off a pair of tickets to the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show for $50,000. And Maxwell performed, and offered to “personally come to your house, play the piano and sing every Marvin Gaye song” as a way to goose the bidding on an original Motown photo of the late singer.

The gala raised more than $1 million to fight human trafficking.

Now, anyone can go on www.globalfishingwatch.org to police the seas. Oceana hopes the new tool will help fishery managers to stop illegal fishing. Users can generate authorization lists to see who's allowed to fish in certain areas. Nations can ensure only authorized vessels enter their Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), generally 200 nautical miles from a country’s coastline.
