thanx 4 da tweet & articles!!!!!

OK, I join you girls

Get Leo an Oscar! :beating:

although some people say that Leo only does success nowadays because River Phoenix died... I%20dont%20know.gif ( I swear I read it).

I know, Pami, I've heard that too many times, come on, that's not truth! :beating:

So they stopped filming?

I thought they still were?

They had a day off yesterday because it was columous day, I assume he'd be back to work today :)

Barbie & Wijn

Yes, as Kat stated above, I only meant that the Wolf cast members had the day off Monday due it being Columbus Day , whereas today it is back to work :)

Pami

Yes, the person who keeps making that same tweet about River seems to have conveniently overlooked the fact that Leo had already been nominated for an Oscar for What's Eating Gilbert Grape before Phoenix ever died.

He had ,also, already won critical acclaim for his performance opposite DeNiro in This Boy's Life.

Wijn

Tks for Mythbuster link :)

thanks for the answer, ox. But I knew it was just a day without filming, I just wanted to know when they would start again. And it seems Wolf filming will last until december, isn't it?

I just saw this tweet... so seems they´re filming today!

Shadee Beni@shadeebeni530

Shadee Beni@shadeebeni530

Wait how are u gonna shoot in my street and not let me meet Leo who do u think u are #fucksecurity

This girls seems really angry. Never get between Leo and his fans

Barbie

I remember reading that filming would last until December

Barbie

As to how long Wolf filming will last, initially we heard through Dec, but when someone asked Ethan and another Wolf cast member how long they were due to be in NY for Wolf they said to Jan 2013, so the filming may take a little bit longer than expected, but that could be, as they will be taking a break so that Leo can do Django pr :)

Princess

Tks for filming tweets :)

Oxford...I agree when it comes to River Phoenix. Btw,River was not as popular as Leo at that time...FACT. So how can they say that Leo replaced him after his death? I'm not saying River was a bad actor, actually he was a good actor ( though I only watched Stand By me but he was good in it).

But if we check the roles that Leo got in his early career and the roles that River got we can see that Leo was way better than him ( and more handsome too...sorry :p )....at least in my opinion. Movies like This Boy's Life and What's eating Gilbert Grape for a 18- year- old boy (Leo's age at that time) starring great actors, give Leo the respect he deserves for me.

And forget Critters 3. :p

Tks girls for tweets and articles! :flower:

Check this out...it's ok if she's a fan of River Phoenix but I'm sure she doesnt know anything about Leo.

River Phoenix or Leonardo Di Caprio?

River!!!

Leo looked up to River, and inherited at least two movies River either had or was being majorly considered for (The Basketball Diaries & Total Eclipse) so I'd assume both tried out originally but River won both parts. River was nominated for an Oscar at 17 (one of the youngest nominees in Academy history), Leo wasn't nominated (though still very impressive) til he was 19 for Gilbert Grape. I think (& many critics apparently did too) River was the greatest of his generation (which included people like Leo, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, etc) which is pretty impressive.

I like Leo, and I think he's become a good person, but River was a good person from the start. He didn't start out as an arrogant young actor that seemed to feel entitled (which by many accounts Leo did). He never embraced the Hollywood or celebrity scene (all the more sad an ironic that he'll be forever linked to it for dying basically in the middle of it), and always was so kind and down to earth. Definitely wise beyond his years.

One thing that really bugs me about the River vs Leo is that 20 years ago River was preaching all about global warming and taking care of our environment and actually doing something about it. He was either ignored, criticized, or ridiculed for his efforts by most of the media and alot of the public. 15+ years later Leo joins the bandwagon and everyone's like what a revolutionary actor and a great humanitarian!!!!! Um hello!!!!! Where were they 20 years ago???

He was also an outsider for being a vegan in Hollywood, now every other celeb is.

And then of course there's River and the animals. Who could not love a guy that literally loved animals so much he changed his entire life because of them?? He had to be one of the first big names to represent PETA (long before Pam Anderson & The Kardashians "would rather go naked than wear fur", which I'm convinced they did primarily to flaunt themselves than to promote animals, lol).

So my vote definitely goes to River, as an actor, humanitarian, animal lover, and all around angelic human being. He was one of the best and I still cry every year on Oct. 31. And c'mon, let's not kid ourselves, Stand By Me is always gonna be better than Titanic, lol at least in my book anyway!!!!!

Nice pic... :wub2:

I agree with you. I was a huge River fan and at the time he was a much better actor than Leo. I do hate when I read that "Leo would not be where he is today if River had lived", because who's to say what would have happen if River had not passed away. The way he hated the press he might have quit acting all together or the drugs might have slowed down his acting career. Leo has made several comments about how he admired River's work so in an ideal world maybe they would both be fighting for the environment and acting in movies together.

I feel its stupid that the media keeps comparing them......leo and river had totally different lives, totally different upbringings, and totally different acting skills. River and leo weren't the same person, and it didn't seem to me that they were in similar situations.

Major respect for River, but I don't how leo relates to him besides leo saying that he looked up to him?

Anywho found this, a story from a girl whos truck almost hit leo :p :D

THE TIME I ALMOST KILLED LEONARDO DICAPRIO

So part of Inception was filmed in Calgary. My dad delivers equipment to movie sets and I help him sometimes. So I was helping him one day and we drove downtown and almost crashed because we stopped so hard. My dad kinda sat there and my eyes went wide:

Me: Oh my god!

Dad: Who is that?

Me: I dunno...

Dad: Looks like someone important...

Me: ... HOLY !%$+ DAD. IT'S LEONARDO !*+$*$+ DICAPRIO.

Dad: Oh. Well yea don't say

Me: I DO DAD. I DO SAY.

Me: LEMME OUT

Dad: No.

Me: PLEASEEEEEE

Dad: No way. You'll embarrass yourself.

Me: *rolls eyes*

Dad: *takes of lock*

Me: *flings open door and runs out* Mr. DiCaprio! Wait!

Leonardo: Huh

Me: I'm so sorry

Leo: For?

Me: ... My dad almost hit you

Him: Seriously?

Me: ... yeah

Him: Oh. Well thanks for apologizing.

(insert paragraph about my photographic memory)

He left and I walked back to the truck. My dad laughed because I did infact embarrass myself. And yeah.

Definitevely, this girl don't know nothing about Leo and honestly I don't see why people always want to make this comparisons. Each actor is an actor and everyone is unique, I agree that River was a good actor and I think we are entitlited to have our own opnions and say "oh, I think this actor is better than that another actor", but no need to compare anyone. Well, I don't compare Leo to any other actor, I think he's the best but I don't compare him with anyone.

princess and ox: thanks for the anwers about Wolf filming.

thanks for the tweets princess.

thanks for this cute pic, pami.

kat: thanks for that article, the funny part is that seems Leo even didn't noticed the truck. :hehe:

Welcome back Neon, and thanks for the info about Django, I really hope it's new trailer with some new Candie scenes.
