I don't know if this perverse culture of celebrity referees has affected y'all outside the British Isles but I am sick to death with the chiming in of retired ol' hustlers like Graham Poll. Or Jeff Winter. Or whoever the hell made some terrible decision in a game ten frickin' years ago. Get off the TV, get off the radio, get off the Internet; I don't care whether Polly thinks Fulham are doomed, why is license payer's money going in this guy's pocket for his banal down the pub musings? In 2004 Porto won UCL, and the next year they got knocked out by Inter in the 2nd round.

In 2005 Liverpool won UCL, and the next year they got knocked out by Benfica in the 2nd round.

In 2006 Barcelona won UCL, and the next year they got knocked out by Liverpool in the 2nd round.

In 2007 Milan won UCL, and this year they got knocked out by Arsenal in the 2nd round.

This year Arsenal will win UCL, and the next year they'll break the habit.

but they won't be the reigning champions when they do it though

To be honest though, chances are that an English club will win it this year; most likely Arsenal or Manyoo in my opinion. I wouldn't mind seeing Madrid win it, but only because I want to see what happens when a club wins the European Cup 10 times (Sorry Herve :|)
