after all these years the first CD i ever owned still has my favorite solo.

Sweet Child O' Mine - GNR

sometimes they shorten it for radio play and I get real angry. <_<

we had a thread on guitar intros already,

but also very famous are the solos.

what are your favourites?

pls give a link if the band is not that common. in the best case for that particular solo you are talking about.

the first one I tried to play was from Deep Purple, Smoke On The Water...

never managed it back in the days, never tried recently, but it is very famous and not the best option for beginners on the guitar ;)

Not so famous, but only because the band has lot of more famous songs:

You Got Me Rocking by The Rolling Stones

starts at 1:29

dunno why it has a video with Karo Kurkova, but seems suitable for this forum^^ ;)

and i like a lot of Eric Johnson's stuff:

luv how this one sounds from Dokken:

Iron Maiden - The Prisoner

including the prequel the solos duration is from 3:40 to 4:46

Up the Irons!

Jimi Hendrix. He was the best!

As a solo guitarist I think Slash is best.

His new solo album is coming on 2012.I am eagerly waiting for this.
