The shows doesn't even work for the general audience, because 2023 American writers aren't very talented. The only thing they're good at is gender or race swapping characters, belittling men (just because they're men) and then bragging about it on twitter.
The problem is that if you don't tell a good story, the general audience won't like it.
As for Freya, it's obvious that Lauren S. Hissrich sees her as a younger version of herself, but I don't like neither of them. The actress for Yennefer, however, is pretty good.
