  1. Saving private Ryan (aka "Il faut sauver le soldat Ryan") is easily one of the best WW2 movies.
  2. Actually, I first saw this scene in French. @Cult Icon do you remember this scene?

  4. I like Wyll! 'Blade of Frontiers', a hero of the people, I like characters like that (and his story seems interesting) He reminds me of Zorro.
  5. It was an "accident".............................................................
  6. A 2023 woman: educated, humble, intelligent, well mannered... A real woman of her times. So valuable. A real barbie. https://twitter.com/CensoredMen/status/1694126957015728499?s=20
  7. Thanks! Now we can see her whole face. Oh, well done Kim! Thanks for that I didn't think she looked like that (since she was blowing her nose on the picture). Her eyes were the most attractive thing on the picture (really beautiful green eyes)
  8. ^ One could argue that maybe some women wanted to risk their lives and go to war. Why not, but I've never heard any woman say that. If you hear women today (in the time of feminism and "ekwality"), they have contempt for a man that can't be a protector (and provider). None of them want to be the protector (some are big providers, but they don't share it with their man). And men still think it's their prerogative (and get contempt for that, even if it's a demand from their counterparts). So, the question is this: is this new woke society a balanced deal between men and women? I don't think so. (BTW, I'm not morally judging anyone, just stating what I see and understand from it)
  9. Was he from Poland? Yes, the Russians are brutal and ruthless. The Nazi–Soviet Pact is a big factor that allowed the war to start, because Hitler knew how dangerous the Russians can be (the country is hard to invade and Russian leaders never cared about their human losses). He thought he would buy time before invading them. In the end, Operation Barbarossa was too precipitated anyway (Hitler's generals were better than him, he should've listened to them). --- Anyway, your grandpa's instincts was to protect his sisters and mother (even if apparently he couldn't). I won't discuss if it's natured or nurtured, but, in any case, society knew that risking one's life to protect others has great value.
  10. There is always hope. “Luminous beings, are we. Not this crude matter.”
  11. I had a really good history teacher. Then, I went to public libraries and read tons of history books (and physics ). But IMHO the best way to check a viewpoint is to hear what the other side has to say.
  12. ^ I don't have much time this week, but I'll try to do her quest soon.
  13. I know less stuff about China, but Communism also crippled this beautiful country. The last emperor is a very interesting movie about China.
  14. You're a good person, I never doubted that. I really don't get why history is so twisted in the general public. Especially regarding the men/women relationships. Another theme that's madly twisted on the Internet is the history of Russia between 1917 and 1990. This country is fascinating, but people don't realize how Marxism-Leninism crippled this nation
  15. Good for you! I want good people to be confident in their lives. I'm just sad to see how people have a twisted vision of history sometimes
  16. Public American feminists are not very virtuous either
  17. This is a false premise. It's not the "1st time that men don't have an easy privileged life". Men have been field workers, hunters, soldiers or other shitty jobs for the most part of human history. Men and women didn't have it easy for most of human history.
  18. Feminism (in the West in 2023) is the defence of special privilege for women. We are all equal before the law, but feminism wants women to get special rights. I don't see what virtues it holds. What are the rights that women don't have in the West? Feminism in India or Saudi Arabia is the fight for equal rights. Not in the West.
  19. I'm French, I can name you all the feminist leaders in France. All of them have a record of misandrist quotes (Men are trash, men are useless, men are oppressors, etc.)
