@Stormbringer I just watched an interesting documentary on obesity and diabetes. They talked about the techniques that giant sugary food/drink corporations (like Coca) use to hide the harm that their products do, and, these techniques are very similar to what the tobacco industry did 50 years ago. They also talked about Chile and how it was one of the first countries to push for food labelling and soda taxing. Honestly, I think that the food corporations (who are a freaking oligopoly) have a very high responsability in the global obesity and diabetes epidemic. There's sugar everywhere.

I've read that in some newspaper... The article was very weak and there were no evidence shown to prove this (maybe your article was better, but mine was really bad). Maybe it's because there are more men with diabetes than women. Maybe because of some other effects or hidden variables. Who knows. Maybe journalists will hear about statistics and factor analysis one day... and maybe they'll understand that many of the fake theories they spread (like the gender pay gap) are unfounded views of the world. Who knows

Age and Obesity are the two most important risk factors with Covid. Aging is a natural process. Obesity is (mostly) due to our modern way of life. Maybe it's time for governments to tackle obesity once and for all. Maybe they can start by dealing with the prime suspects: sugar and processed food.

I'm no expert of the US politics (though I hear about it a lot, even when I don't want to ), but Obama was very cautious with China as well. Obama and Trump approaches are quite similar in essence, even if one was more subtle than the other. Journalists don't notice that because manicheism and TDS anaesthetize their brains.
