Ah yes the good old times ๐ Never really was into any of those movies before or after disney honestly. But I admit Jackman kinda owns the Wolverine character aka was always the standout here.

I'm not contradicting ๐คฃ ... but one of the reasons could be that apple is -I think the only- service that just offers originals and new stuff so the selection is kinda limited what's not a bad thing but people tend to watch what they already know lol A friend of mine for example always tells me after a shitty and/or hard day at work she doesn't have the energy to watch anything ambitious/challenging. She just wants to come home and relax on her couch. I think that's the main goal of most people. And I can relate to that. Sometimes I'm just like that too ๐

I actually liked the first movie. The 2nd part was already meaningless and repeatable. But it's decided I skip this movie for "overgrown, infantilized man-children" and watch Costners Horizon instead ๐

Me neither but I'm always in for a good double role. Curious how he will handle it.

LMAO @Lilja K โDeadpool & Wolverine' is A Soulless and Pointless MCU Cash Grab [Review] Hereโs a movie that represents everything thatโs wrong about the modern blockbuster. Itโs soulless and juvenile fan service and has no reason to exist other than to adhere to the nostalgic infantilism thatโs ravaged our culture. Iโm not even blaming audiences for taking the bait, theyโve just been programmed to gush over product like โDeadpool & Wolverine.โ As the titular foul-mouthed โhero,โ Ryan Reynolds acts and jokes like heโs 13 years old. The tongue-in-cheek humor here is to be expected, filled with f-bombs, and although there are few unfunny jabs at Marvel and Kevin Feige, the whole movie plays like a 2-hour parade of endless dick jokes. Also, donโt be fooled by the fact that itโs the first MCU movie to be R-rated, which, to many, signifies that itโs edgy. Thereโs nothing edgy about a movie that feels like the celebration of corporate greed. Maybe it was a bad idea to hire director Shawn Levy to helm this latest โDeadpoolโ instalment โ he brings nothing new to the table. Levy is a hired hand; he barely directs as much as just lets his Marvel overlords do the work for him. โDeadpool & Wolverineโ is very similarly shot to the first movies but in a more flavorless fashion. It feels untouched by human hands. I wouldnโt be surprised if artificial intelligence was used to dictate the shot selection. As a visually driven filmmaker, Levyโs style is dull and uninspired โ he over-directs the action, to the point where nothing feels effortlessly conceived, and everything turns out slick and flat. Thereโs a constant repetition to the way he directs the movie, almost as if we were watching a video game. The plot, if you want to call it that, revolves around Wade Wilson, alter ego to Deadpool, living a sad sack life as a car dealer, only to have his world turned upside down by a representative of the Time Variance Authority, played Matthew Macfadyen. Deadpool is tasked to track some older version of Wolverine, otherwise the world around him will collapse. It turns out Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is now a bar-stool drunkard, and after much convincing, the duo hits the road, skipping through multiverses, gruesomely slaughtering villainous figures to save the planet, all strenuously set to cheesy pop hits. The main villain of the movie is Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), the twin sister of Charles Xavier (aka Professor X). In a way, Corrin is the only true bright spot in the film, maybe because she doesnโt utter a single joke, she plays it straight and villainous. Amidst all of the cheap jokes and gory violence, Jackman feels out of place here โ the banter is never quite as clever, let alone as funny, as it thinks it is. Comic timing isnโt Jackmanโs forte, especially when that goofball Reynolds keeps interrupting him at every second. This is a movie that tries too hard to be clever. A self-congratulatory parade of mediocrity. Also, whatโs the point in having Deadpool and Wolverine constantly stabbed and shot, hundreds of times, all throughout the movie if they just regenerate and quickly heal from these wounds? The stakes are nonexistent. It all just leaves you numb and uninterested. However, the raison dโetre for โDeadpool & Wolverineโ seems to be the nostalgic celeb cameos. A slew of well-known actors show up, and based on the reactions of the guy sitting next to me, orgiastic reactions are to be expected at weekend screenings. These cameos are such golden nuggets to fans that critics have been told not to reveal a thing about them in their reviews. No bad reviews will deter this movie from grossing $1 billion worldwide. Itโs critic proof. It doesnโt matter that thereโs absolutely no substance on display, nor will it be an issue that the editing is fit to please the mind of a skittish teenager. No, what matters are the cameos. And there are lots and lots of cameos in โDeadpool & Wolverine.โ [D]

Trey Edward Shults & The Weeknd's $20M Film Can't Find A Buyer A report from THR describes the bitter rivalry between โEuphoriaโ creator Sam Levinson and his star Zendaya. Quite honestly, Iโm not sure if the third season will happen, even with a set January 2025 production start. Zendaya and Levinson have had a strained partnership after Levinson turned all his attention to his failed HBO series โThe Idolโ and delayed submitting any scripts for โEuphoriaโ Season 3. Meanwhile, a source close to Levinson blames Zendaya instead for focusing on her movie career โ โIt was all about her.โ Caught up in the middle of this drama is actor-musician The Weeknd who partnered with Levinson on โThe Idol.โ Hidden deep inside THRโs report is how The Weekndโs upcoming โMiseryโ remake, directed by trey Edward Shults (โKrishaโ), cannot find a buyer. Itโs been sitting in post-production for well over a year now with โno one biting.โ Last year, it was reported that Shultsโ film would be written by himself and Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd. Tesfaye would lead a cast that includes Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. The film has since completed production. Last year, I reported a rumor that Shultsโ film could be a loose remake of Rob Reinerโs 1990 film, โMisery.โ The Weeknd is said to play himself, a famous singer, and Ortega plays his deranged fan/stalker. Adding to the rumors, Ortega recently posted a shot of the house used during production, and it looked very similar to the one in โMisery.โ The still-untitled film is said to be inspired by an infamous, real-life incident that occurred to The Weeknd in 2015, when he lost his voice during a concert in Los Angeles โ he managed to get through four songs before he had to cut the show short. Plot details on Shultsโ film will remain unofficial for now, obviously no release date has been announced, and, apparently, no studio is โbitingโ on the prospect of purchasing this film. @Lilja K- Katherine Langford

I have to watch Despicable Me 4 with my little niece tomorrow so I had some homework ๐ I never really was into pixar movies I have to admit (not even as a kid). I don't really get the humor and the strange looking characters. Maybe it's different when you watch those movies with a enthusiastic crowd. I'm kinda curious for this cinema experience. I think the only other pixar I ever watched in cinema was "Ratatouille". Quite liked it on the big screen. Wasn't the same when I re watched at home.- Last movie you saw...
I loved that movie. So good. Probably my fave of the whole franchise. This one wasn't bad but it had some real pace issues aka it was too long imo. It's on my watchlist for years. Tried to watch it, skipped it after an hour or so ๐คฃ Not sure if I watched this particular cut but I watched one of them and liked it at least much more than Star Wars ๐- Camila Morrone

I should stop watching movies from the 70s ๐คฃ @Lilja K I liked the first half of the movie (good pace, thrilling, great disturbing atmosphere + silly white people doing silly things and then getting killed for their ignorance LOL) but this 2nd half with these hilariously 3 dumb white men on that ship thinking they were big tough heros talking nothing but irritating dumbass nonsense while doing even worse things to kill that poor animal truly I just started to root for the shark to kill them all at one point and I'm not sorry- Upcoming Movie News
Another upcoming interesting western imo @Lilja K- Kevin Costner
Out of solidarity with Costner and his dedication + giving not only his soul and heart but money for this project I probably should also watch it in cinema - Nicholas Galitzine
