It's part of the so called Brat Pack which is a nickname given to a group of young actors who frequently appeared together in teen-oriented coming-of-age films in the 1980s. "Members" were people like Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald etc
St. Elmos Fire and The Breakfast Club are probably the most popular movies of the group. It very much mirrored the life of a teen in the 80s.
Partly maybe questionable to modern standards but still very watchable imo.
Rob Lowe was SO GORGEOUS good god it's hard to focus on anything else when he appeared on screen
And despite his good looks he was allowed to play more than just the typcial one dimensional "fuckboi" what was really great about those movies. He was dreamy, beautiful, charismatic and yeah sometimes he really played the d!ck but there was always something "more". Deeper ya know.
Billy of St Elmos Fire is probably my all time fave character of him
He actually still is 🥵
