Marvel on Disney+
Overall, I think he's probably a better fit for a mini-series than an origin movie, because they'll likely have to burn through at least two or three hours just to explain him and his powers. Yeah, unfortunately, they're all still a long way off. Falcon and Winter Soldier won't be arriving for another year, followed by WandaVision and Loki in the Spring of 2021. That being said, it should be fun when more announcements about casting and suchlike start to roll in.

Marvel on Disney+
Not that it seems to stop people of course, but there can be few bigger wastes of an adult's time than getting narked about the existence of a female Hulk. I myself am fine with it, as long as it's followed by He-Marvel, Black Widower and Scarlet Warlock. As primarily a street-level kind of hero but also a bit of a lightning rod for weirdness, Moon Knight always seemed to occupy a slightly odd territory in the books. I'm imagining something not too different to Legion where we can never be sure what's real, perhaps with a few cameos by established characters for him to play off.

Marvel on Disney+
The recent comic book run of She-Hulk is actually one of my favourites of the last few years, not only because she's so upbeat and positive, but the story takes a fairly economical approach to the superhero stuff. That being said, I feel like transitioning that into live action with the amount of CGI they'll be needing could prove a bit rocky. Even if it turns out to be a disaster though, it was worth it for the shrieks of "Stan Lee would turn in his grave if he knew they were gender swapping the Hulk" that appeared online soon after the announcement was made.

The Batman (2021)
John Turturro has been added to an already impressive-looking cast as Carmine Falcone. Casting him alongside all those other names would seem to indicate that this film, while perhaps not doing so as a straightforward origin movie, will probably examine the theme of mobsters being superceded by supervillains.

Nightmare Fuel: The Thread
Yeah, I think Kojima's career has reached a point now where no-one is going to edit him, so the story will almost certainly end up being something that people either go all in and really love or look at from a distance and go "that's weird and dumb." Overall though, it seems like he considers marketing for games as being almost like a game in itself. He probably likes the idea of his audience having to come together to try and decipher it.

Dune (2020)
I'm cautiously optimistic. As much as Dune is seemingly a cursed idol at this point, Villeneuve is a master of that kind of slow revelation, and in Blade Runner 2049, of world building without blatantly explaining everything in it. And of course, it doesn't hurt that it's an absolutely stellar cast.

The Batman (2021)
I think Pattinson has proved his worth as an actor post-Twilight, although he's seemingly negotiated the path from teen idol to serious actor and then to Hollywood A-lister in remarkably quick time. Someone give his agent a medal. With all that said, while he should be fine as Wayne, it's a tricky business getting the dichotomy right and I do wonder if he'll struggle to convey the menace of Batman's dark side. That DC are starting to disconnect their universe is probably a good thing, since Marvel have them beat on the whole shared universe concept. Not that they couldn't still do another crossover, just probably not without some kind of major retcon having to happen.

Nightmare Fuel: The Thread
I'm imagining the story as Kojima in overdrive, but I do love that someone has worked on building something genuinely new instead of just re-hashing old mechanics and designs that we've seen many times over. The shared-world aspect looks interesting too, I'm really curious as to how the promised interactions with other players are going to work. Like if I wait a while and play the game later, am I going to find a world that's been thoroughly traversed and that some of the problem solving is already done? If so, I'd like to think there'll be a way to set a limit on that. Maybe each server is maxed by a certain amount of players, or you're only paired with folks who have similar experience.

Joker (2019)
Thought it was a gripping watch, good score, numerous meta comments on comedy and of course, an abundance of references to other films. I didn't find the 'message' immediately discernible, instead I thought it allowed for multiple readings which perhaps makes it more interesting in retrospect than it is in the moment. Two small things stood out as curious asides, the subversive take on Thomas Wayne who more often than not is depicted as something approaching a saint, as well as the shot of Arthur (in full Joker regalia) sitting in a police car with his head resting against the side window. That had to have been intentionally swiped from The Dark Knight, possibly as a tribute to Heath Ledger.

Football
That and we seemed incapable of making fast starts, often having to fight back from deficits to secure said draws. I suppose the hope will be that Parkinson can stop that, this division is a hard slog and he's nothing if not an experienced slogger. It's going to be tough to define exactly how monumental the challenge will be though amid a buzz of panic, ambition and ongoing changes in the boardroom, but having been given the brief of delivering automatic promotion, the two wins out of five he's managed so far don't exactly scream next level stuff.

Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
I just think it was (and still is) a franchise that in the right hands, could have had so much potential, it's just a pity to see it get stuck in a rut of slavishly trying to appeal to nostalgia. There's plenty of potential new directions for the series, but the writers and producers are seemingly only interested in trying to make T2 again.

Joker (2019)
I'm still hedging a little too. My issue isn't with Phoenix as I'm certain he'll be great in the role, it's that the story and direction seem like a bit of a question mark. That being said, the worst case scenario is probably that we get a slightly pretentious knock-off of Taxi Driver or King of Comedy with comic book window dressing.

Legion
I would say S2 was somewhat guilty of that at times. When it received a longer episode order, the extra time should probably have been spent on developing the supporting cast, rather than the Jon Hamm monologues that perhaps weren't quite as poignant as they were intended to be. S1 however, might be my favourite season of any show ever. It was an air-tight eight episodes without a second wasted.

Marvel on Disney+
Quite intriguing to see She-Hulk on Marvel's to-do list there as I can't imagine that being a particularly easy sell. If promoting her to the movies at some point is in any way a priority, they're going to need top flight CGI that looks comparable to Banner's.

Legion
It really was a great thrill to be given 27 episodes of the show. I'm not even sure one could say it was consistently great, but it was trippy, idiosyncratic and unique, and so frequently like nothing else out there. It's sad how rare of a thing that is for television.
-
Legion
In keeping with the show as a whole, I imagined the finale being a bit divisive, but I liked it as a conclusion and the narrative made it clear that what eventually transpired was David's absolute best case scenario, so I suppose you'd have to say it was a happy ending of sorts. Loved the Pink Floyd sequence too.

Joker (2019)
Be that as it may, I'm still holding out hope that the rumours of DiCaprio starring in a Stan Lee biopic were true, I'd like to see him doing a bunch of cameos in superhero movies. Or better yet, he could play Jared Leto in a Suicide Squad biopic. When asked to comment, Leto is last seen spasming on the floor and speaking in tongues.

Football
See you somewhere down the road, Jack Ross. The continuing defensive fragilities and apparent inability to create more than one or two chances per game made it very evident that lessons hadn't been learned from last season, with the Lincoln debacle certainly feeling like something of a tipping point. Rather than a legacy of failure though, I'd like to think Ross's will be one of an undoubtedly decent guy who weathered a storm of instability and, to some extent, restored order.

Models in Movies
Yeah, I'd imagine that most models probably have at least a modicum of experience in the realm of performing arts, but the sort of physical attributes that are great for modelling and especially runway work aren't necessarily good for film or TV, where perspectives are frequently very different. Also, by and large, they're presumably trained in a way that's built around posing and keeping certain postures more so than natural reactions or emotional responses.

Toni Garrn made a random cameo this summer in Spider-Man: Far From Home, credited only as 'the Seamstress', an associate of Nick Fury.

Fifth Element is easily in the top ten most quotable films of all time for me, and straight-up one of my favourites.
