I did read one report describing Guardiola's manner as 'controlled rage' but my eyes have yet to see it for themselves. Pep does look as if he's feeling the effects of a long hard season, though it's to his credit that he hasn't shown any signs of annoyance with Mourinho until now. He lasted longer than Jose's rivals usually do, anyway. Deep down, I suspect Mourinho knows Madrid can ill afford to concede an away goal and therefore has started with the frustration tactics before the game even kicks off. Silly as it might sound, a 0-0 draw tonight would probably suit him better than a 2-1 win.

Clearly, Mourinho is on top form at the moment but as far as I'm concerned, Guardiola had a point over Pedro's disallowed goal. Granted, the replays showed that he was indeed offside but in actual fact, the decision was so tight that the official couldn't have based his call on anything other than guesswork, and the benefit of the doubt, we're always told, should go in favour of the attacker. Surprised how ridiculously one-sided last night's game was. Giggs appears to be better now than he was 10 years ago - what's he going to be like at 48?

I'm backing Schalke to do well and get a good result at home, but I could see United grabbing an away goal or two and thus, doing enough to make the final. Fergie seemingly favours 4-5-1 for European games but I'd be very surprised if he reverts to it again, after having the 4-4-2 work so well against Chelsea. Here's hoping that ITV have emergency medical staff on hand in case Clive Tyldsley has a coronary mid-match. They'll be looking much better with Puyol and Iniesta out there, but this game just feels perfectly poised for Madrid. Home advantage, knackered Barca squad and confidence from the Copa Del Rey victory, not to mention key players in good form and others returning from injury. One thing Barca should have in their favour is that the referee Stark is a card-happy fellow and a self-confessed Messi worshipper. So I strongly suspect that if a Madrid player does so much as breathe on little Leo, they'll be history faster than Darron Gibson's Twitter account.

I'm inclined to agree. The lack of numbers in the Barca squad is becoming quite evident now, what with Pedro and Villa looking fairly off colour lately. Madrid are looking good going forward at the moment and will have the luxury of having three forwards (assuming Ronaldo starts as a lone striker) on the the bench alongside a somewhat resurgent Kaka, while Guardiola will have, erm, Milito and Jeffren. I could see Mourinho really taking advantage of Barca's defensive shortcomings, provided they get enough possession going over the two legs. It'll be another tight game, but I think Real start as the favourites.

BioShock Infinite
Funny you should mention that actually, having played through and really enjoyed the section in which the plasmids switch at random intervals, I'd given some thought to playing the first game again with all the weapons that I hadn't previously cared to use much. Although I've started on the second game now, so that'll have to wait a while.

Doctor Who
It was mentioned at one point that the Doctor first met River when she was a kid, and River strongly hints that she eventually kills him, if I'm remembering it right. It was also revealed a while back that the astronaut is someone we've met before, so the first part would probably make sense. The second part is just pure guesswork on my part and most likely completely wide of the mark.

Doctor Who
Found the first 15 minutes rather slow, but it got better as it went on and the remaining however-many minutes went by in a flash. Nice to see that the time honoured Doctor Who tradition of scaring young kids half to death at 6 in the evening is alive and well. My prediction... *Waits to be proved completely wrong*

Oh man, that's very sad to hear. When I got into 'Dear Science' I kicked myself for not giving TVotR a shot sooner. Here's the song that really caught my attention...

Doctor Who
Not sure if Elisabeth's spin-off show 'The Sarah Jane Adventures' ever made it across the pond, but it was being shown on Children's BBC as recently as this year, so this news came as quite a shock. Very sad to hear.

More great stuff from this week's Jools show - it's been way too long since I've heard those harmonies.

The anticipation is killing me all the more for reading about that. The solo EP Alex recorded for the recent movie 'Submarine' was criminally underrated.
