It's thought to be between Joel Edgerton and Jon Bernthal. After the negative fan reaction and poor reviews for Prince of Persia, it seems Gyllenhaal has opted out of big studio pieces for the time being, in favour of making things like End of Watch (which I really didn't like ), Nightcrawler and Enemy, regardless of whether or not they will be seen by huge audiences.

Curious one, this. Before Boseman was confirmed, I was pulling for Ejiofor to play Black Panther.

The only one of the new additions I'm familiar with is Sophie Turner, who I've no worries about. Give her Jean's iconic red hair and she'll be a perfect fit for the physical design of the character. People on comic book sites seem to be twisting a bit about the other two, but many did the same thing when Jackman was cast as Wolverine back in the day. I'll reserve judgment until I actually see them play the characters in the film.

Birdman. Cracking movie, a very interesting take on the way Hollywood actors are viewed by fans of the theatre and how some are crushed under the weight of their most famous roles. I'd have no problems seeing Michael Keaton get the Oscar nod this year.

I suppose it's no real surprise that Sirs Patrick and Ian aren't going to be in 'Apocalypse' (it wouldn't make a lot of sense unless they were to do more time travel stuff), but I'll miss them all the same.

It sounds like Tom Hardy is officially out as Rick Flagg, with Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly passing on the chance to replace him in the role.

Swapping Altidore for Defoe. Even if we only get a year out of him, that's nifty business. Might actually start scoring a few now, although there's the small matter of keeping them out at the other end to think about as well.
