Musk got in trouble a few times with the boards of his companies for his rather unusual communication style on social media, by the standards of large company CEOs. I'm not sure what his political persuasion is, he comes across more as very immature for his age (though I'm guessing this is largely a social media persona). I mean it's not like there are a lots of other CEOs of his status spending their days posting dank memes and generally trolling social media.

In all seriousness, they have had Zuck on. So it's hardly consistent. Musk is a doofus on social media but Zuck's company has done a lot more damage to the world than Tesla.

No need to hold back on my account. If you think it's totally immaterial to the U.S. standing in the world to have imagery broadcast around the globe worthy of a banana republic, then I guess I can't explain to you why that is wrong either.

I was talking about how it was experienced abroad. Whether or not cops were complicit or whatever doesn't change the damaging imagery that was broadcast around the world. Every undemocratic regime was very happy with that image of America.

I don't see how the fact that some cops might have been complicit changes how this was perceived around the world...

I think people in the U.S. underestimate how shocking the January 6th insurrection was. The most powerful democracy in the world having their seat of power successfully overtaken by a mob. It was imagery associated with say young South-American democracies, not the supposed Shining City upon a hill.
