  1. I don't see how the fact that some cops might have been complicit changes how this was perceived around the world...
  2. I think people in the U.S. underestimate how shocking the January 6th insurrection was. The most powerful democracy in the world having their seat of power successfully overtaken by a mob. It was imagery associated with say young South-American democracies, not the supposed Shining City upon a hill.
  3. Sarah + HB = 🔥 Always. They would be dumb not to work with her for as long as she is interested in the gig.
  4. Beautiful in bridal gowns!
  5. In general I think the Oscars are in the same boat as SISE. Whilst some of their decline might be due to the people currently in charge of them, it was also somewhat inevitable with how the times and culture had changed. So I doubt very much SISE can ever attain the culture significance it once had again, even with a new creative team in charge. Likewise, whatever tone the Oscars employ "woke" or not, they are never going to enthuse current young generations for a stuffy old awards show. It is what it is, you aren't going to make Zoomers sit down for 3 hours to watch a show that was pretty boring even in its heyday.
  6. We are still using it here in Belgium and we would have been very grateful to get those jabs.
  7. *shrugs* In general young people seem to care less about the Oscars and other awards shows like it. It's not even about their political preference. Zoomers just DGAF about that stuff, broadly speaking.
  8. Oscars broadcast being historically low might also be due to no one going to the movies in over a year. And it's been dropping steadily for years now. I think one of its main issues is an aging audience, I hardly know anyone in his twenties who cares at all about the Oscars.
  9. Christen & Liz together is always
  10. She helped out during the height of the outbreak. I wonder if the positive press she got because of that actually helped the leap she seemed to have made this year?
  11. I just find it odd it took this long for people to figure out her potential?
  12. I mean, I'm not in favor of "abolish the police", so not sure what you are trying to argue exactly. I just think if you are Ilhan Omar, AOC, ... and you don't have some form of protection, you are being reckless.
  13. Renée looks like she was made in a lab by an evil genius trying to create the physically perfect woman.
  14. I don' see Toni Garrn myself. Mostly because I never found Toni all that attractive but this girl definitely is.
  15. Well disregarding their policies about the police (and otherwise), if I were one of the "squad", I would probably get some private security too. Between what happened on January 6th, the endless vilification of them on right-wing media and the amount of crazies out there with guns, not to have some sort of protection in place would be idiotic. So very polarizing public figures who might face real threats to their physical integrity should not get any protection out of principle?
  16. I don't see why "I believe in climate change" should be any more or less allowed in here than "I don't believe in climate change". In any case, it's a non-issue anyway, since no government in the world has any real interest to do something serious about it. Like all of the pearl-clutching over the Green New Deal, when even the majority of Dems don't support it. It's a non-starter.

What is she wearing? Heidi, you turn 48 in June, you can maybe mess around with terrible outfits in your early 20s but by this point you should have a more mature style, I think.
  18. I think the new hairstyle is very cute & sexy!
  19. Well Europe just had entire fruit crops destroyed by unusual April cold weather caused by melting sea-ice in the Arctic. I suppose you can still pretend that Global warming is not happening if you choose to ignore all the proof.
  20. Who is this? She looks a bit like Laura Vandervoort.
  21. Jill Goodacre's weight started to jojo considerably within a few years of her marriage to Harry Connick Jr. I think for women who had to work really hard to maintain their (super-)model physique, it probably gets hard to keep that up after their career ends.

I mean it more that Jennifer Lawrence is the exception, in that she got to start out with a serious project that earned her Oscars recognition. Most young actresses have to take whatever role comes their way at first.

Every actress who starts out doesn't want to start out in "hot chick" roles. But not everyone can start out with a role like Winter's Bone (Jennifer Lawrence). Like Charlize Theron's earliest credits were stuff like Children of the Corn 3 and Mighty Joe Young. You cannot be too picky at the start. On the other hand, her boyfriend is one of the most powerful actors in Hollywood so he might help her skip a few steps.

She is pretty much done as a model, no? I've only seen her in the Death Wish remake in terms of acting, but she wasn't bad in that. Certainly seen a lot worse performances from models who make the jump to acting.
  25. Another entry for "Sarah Stephen's body is just insane". From her IG. Seriously though, can't think of many other models who would work that dress to the same extent.
