I actually thought they underused Los Angeles as a location. So much of it took place indoors, in dark rooms/bars. Louisiana was really one of the characters in season one. This was far less so for season two.

I found it a disappointment. The effects were great, but for a well-researched film, I thought some of the science wasn't as accurate as it could have been and the story was fairly forgettable. Not to mention that some aspects of the plot did not make any sense.

The sad thing is that the bare bones of the season could have made for a decent TV show: a dirty cop and a criminal are tied together by a lie and find themselves (separately but at the same time) confronted by institutional evil that will force them to either bend or break. But Nic Pizz turned it into a needlessly complex and at times staggeringly boring spectacle.

Season one was fun because of the McConaissance, Fukunaga's excellent directing and the fact that we hadn't yet figured out that all of the mysticism would lead absolutely nowhere.

I disagree that the rest of her body does not have any good features. She has a decent butt and nice legs. Also a better hip-to-waist ratio than her supposed predecessor, Kate Upton. Her biggest weakness is her face. It's just a bit odd-looking.

Her Nelly work seems to have dried up a bit.

I wonder now if they should not just buy out Nic Pizz and give the concept to another showrunner?

It was pretty amazing the extent to which the final was bad, even after a crappy season.

I thought the finale was as poor as the rest of the season. Also, nothing in this show has any relationship to real-life, it's a fantasy with some noir tropes (though not a very good noir at that imho). I hope they rein in Nic Pizzolatto for season three (if there is a season three). He needs a writer's room and a producer who keeps him on a short leash. So little of what happened had an emotional impact, which is problematic.
