'Boring' baseball suddenly has an allure: (Edited - and adding to my new found appreciation of baseball... Kind of!)

Whilst I love Rosie's whole 'Navajo Peacock' look, I think it's mostly based on those wings (my favourites in the show). And, outside my usual predilections, I thought Edita was the best looking lady of the night. The hair and make-up seemed to suit her best, plus she wasn't saddled with a god-awful outfit. I like Abbey's jacket - it's very Dr. Tooth circa 1978; and The Electric Mayhem remain absolute style icons in my book! But, come on, if you're going to do something silly (and let's face it, a lot of this show was silly) then go ALL OUT SILLY and wear an aluminium box. I know we're not involving those wings - but I still can't look at Izabel's outift without invoking the image of those Hawkmen in Flash Gordon... ^Her whole presence in the show - and general demeanour - put me in mind of one Scrappy-Doo! I mean, there is the distinction that she was voted in. And the main problem with democracy is having to accept what the people want (and who didn't think it would end up being the two busty blondes in the final?) But it's like she was intensively focus-grouped - and having found this perfect combination of simpering, bland, 'don't drink don't smoke what do you do?', boobalicious, all-American cookie-seller, VS and CBS thought it wise, as Mam'selle Pink so perfectly put it: TO SHOVE IT IN OUR FACES! I'm old enough to remember the sudden, shock, introduction of Scrappy-Doo (it was probably at a different time to you, but that's Argentina!). Suddenly, without warning here was Scooby's 'fun' nephew. Nobody asked us, this time around, if we wanted him (but then with the VSFS, nobody asked us for the Model Search prominence) - but here he was, all PUPPY POWER and taking over the whole damn show: Hey kids - do you like Scooby-Doo? Well then you'll LOVE Scrappy-Doo! He's Scoobs crazy nephew and he gets up to all kinds of zany fun! Yeah, sure Scooby-Doo is fun, and we like Fred, and Daphne, and Shaggy and Velma... But, Scrappy-Doo is EVERYBODY'S new favourite funster... Only he wasn't... He was fucking irritating. And, sure enough, within a year Fred, Daphne and Velma had vanished - as had the "Whodunnit" elements of the show - and it became the Scooby-Doo And Scrappy-Doo Show. And it became shit. Now America may have asked for Kylie. But maybe they didn't know just how much they'd asked for. She may not be the model us 'enlightened' folks might have wanted, but this wasn't down to Bellazon or tFS or Tyson or (even) Tyra. This was some other demographic who probably think Kylie is exactly the kind of model that is needed. And, like a vampire at the door, it's important to know what you're letting in. It looks like her entrance might have also allowed in a million marketing and publicity types who will now attempt to convert us to the new Scooby-Doo And Scrappy-Doo format. No more catwalk and 'unknown' models at the VSFS, pssshh BORING. Just more KYLIE BACKSTAGE, KYLIE'S MAKE-UP TIPS, KYLIE AT HOME, KYLIE'S CHRISTIAN HUSBAND TALKS TO US ABOUT JESUS, and coming up: KYLIE SINGS WITH SEAL AND HEIDI - AT LAST! Be warned: It always starts innocently enough...

Ah, Pretty - don't you love that prostitute look though? Tuppence for a good time guv'nor? And "Rosie" is such a 19th century whores name too! Oompah Pah Pah, Oompah Pah Pah thats how we go... ^Agreed, Red - and it's a real shame because Rosie looked fantastic, and it ranked pretty highly with all the dross out there.
