I try to remind myself of this when I can. Twitter and other forms of social media can make it seem like the frustrating people are the majority, but they are not. There are many smart and reasonable people out there, who you may agree with or not, but they are not on the extremes that people focus on. Percentages and probabilities are certainly another thing people struggle with. Bored? I wouldn't know anything about that.

I read an interesting article about why people have difficulty taking the coronavirus seriously. Apparently, one of the problems is that people struggle to understand exponential growth so they can't see a week or two ahead and how quickly things can get worse. If I remembered where I saw it, I would have posted it.

I'm not sure I am staying positive. As long as I don't become too negative, I feel like I'm doing a good job.

So, some politicians in different countries think the precautions to prevent the spread of the virus aren't worth it because of the damage to the economy. Maybe I'm dumb (always a possibility), but this would be the sequence of events with no precautions: - a lot more people get sick - a lot more people die - people get really scared and don't leave their homes anyway - the damage to the economy still happens, and is maybe worse Do these politicians not understand this or not care?

Starting? I haven't really had any for a long time. I think many people feel this way. The funny thing is that some people feel this way for exactly the opposite reason someone feels this way.

Too many dumb conspiracy theories about this. I guess it shouldn't be shocking because social media (especially Twitter) has been the source of so much conspiracy nonsense over the years.

I have seen similar reports from many countries doing the same thing.

I am having an increasing desire to move to a remote location far away from everyone.

This is off the specific topic of this disease, but this sentence reminds me about one of the reason I appreciate scientists. The good ones, and the ones I listen to are willing to say they may be wrong. I have heard some version of this from many scientists "Based on the data we have, this is how we interpret this situation. With new data, we are willing to change any conclusions we have." Back to the virus: because it's a new virus, the situation is changing very fast and the scientists are having to change things constantly.
