Official press release

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For more than a decade, women around the globe have been using the phrase “I want Gisele hair” to describe their ultimate hair inspiration. Beginning in January 2014, Pantene, the world’s #1 hair care brand*, and one of the world’s most recognized supermodels, Gisele Bündchen, are coming together to create a match made in hair heaven. Bündchen will appear in all elements of the brand’s holistic marketing campaign, including TV and print advertising, in-store displays, iMedia and public relations outreach. The international supermodel has been representing Pantene in Brazil since 2007.

“Gisele is truly a woman who has it all – not only does she have one of the most iconic heads of hair in the beauty world but she is also a true role model with a huge heart,” says Kevin Crociata, Marketing Director of North American Hair Care at Procter & Gamble. “We want to celebrate Gisele not only for her beauty, but also her genuine passion to empower women to be their best selves. Her tremendous career accomplishments, her success as a mother of two wonderful children, and her ongoing philanthropic work are an inspiration for women to be beautiful both inside and out. We are proud to now have her as part of our North American Pantene family.”

“I feel my hair has been through it all – from being styled more than ten times in one day to enjoying the sun and surf with my children – and Pantene has helped to keep it healthy with every wash, no matter what the day may bring,” says Bündchen. “I love that Pantene not only stands for healthy, strong hair, but also encourages women to give back specifically through a program like Pantene Beautiful Lengths.”

Gisele Bündchen will be the face of the new Pantene campaign debuting in January 2014, which will be the launch of Pantene‘s NEW first-ever, clinically-tested, anti-oxidant damage-blocking technology (EDDS). This damage blocking technology targets, captures and helps reduce copper build-up on hair to help prevent oxidative damage, which over time leads to a new dimension of strong, healthy hair. This technology will be across most Pantene shampoo formulas and works to preserve the long-term health of hair.

Pantene will also launch the NEW Damage Detox Collection, designed for women in need of an elevated level of damage repair looking to essentially ‘reset’ their hair, is the first-to-mass detoxifying shampoo, conditioner, and treatment system that cleanses impurities, protects from oxidative damage and provides shine.

Gisele Bündchen Joins Rainforest Alliance Board of Directors

The Rainforest Alliance announces the appointment of international supermodel, entrepreneur and environmental activist Gisele Bündchen to its Board of Directors. In her role as a board member, Bündchen will help shape the vision, strategic plans and policies that guide the Rainforest Alliance’s development and global sustainability efforts.

“We are delighted to welcome Gisele Bündchen to our Board of Directors,” exclaimed Tensie Whelan, president of the Rainforest Alliance. “Along with her acute business acumen, Gisele brings an authentic passion for environmental issues and social innovation. We look forward to working together to expand our current sustainability initiatives and to develop new and creative strategies to tackle social and environmental challenges worldwide.”

“I have long admired the work of the Rainforest Alliance and its positive impact on the environment. Its mission aligns with my own long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship,” commented Bündchen. “As a Rainforest Alliance board member I look forward to calling upon my experience not only as an international spokesperson but as an entrepreneur and global citizen to support the Rainforest Alliance’s on-the-ground efforts.”

Bündchen has a well-established commitment to environmental responsibility. She launched a green blog in 2008 with the aim of reflecting on socio-environmental issues that can be addressed. In May 2009 she co-hosted the Rainforest Alliance's annual gala to honor leaders in sustainability. Bündchen has also supported a variety of environmental causes, including clean water initiatives, environmental sustainability and preservation of South American rainforests. Also, in 2009 she was granted the title of goodwill ambassador by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). In May 2011 Bündchen was named Harvard's 2011 Global Environmental Citizen in recognition of her eco-efforts. She was again recognized in November 2011 when she was awarded Greenest Celebrity at the 2011 International Green Awards at the National History Museum of London.

Haha yeah ^ the whole American Vogue team traveled to her house for her 2010 cover story, too. :p I've also noticed on instagram shes let her friends stay at her Costa Rica villa, even when shes in the states. Just like Tom said, their (*large*) homes are a sanctuary for their friends and family, I truly believe it!

About her sandals, from Forbes Brasil

The top model's Sandals sell up to 25 million pairs per year and are responsible for more than 60% of annual exports, which totaled about $ 250 million last year to Grendene. As the growing middle class of Brazil experienced plenty of credit over the last decade, the company already controls the vast domestic market.
