And she is 7 years older than Candice, Candice has a looong way to go and she is already huge. But like someone else said here, it's Candice's thread and there's no reason for us to compair them two. They are different models and one is way older than the other.

I don't think that they are using her for economic reasons, I think if they were thinking about it economically they would have used adriana or ale.

Adriana is always the one that is trending during the vsfs, Chanel Iman trended in 2010 because she was becoming an angel, Candice opened. It wasn't a suprise that she opened. She is the first model to break adriana's opening cycle and got two wings. Candice didn't trend. On the day the VSFS was happening and the night it aired, you should be able to Google any angel and stuff about the vsfs should come up. For adriana, ale, miranda, doutzen, things came up.I actually searched for candice nothing about 2011's fashion show came up. I don't even think it was noted that candice opened in the articals/pics about the show and got to wear two wings, like it was for adriana. At the VS swim launch last year that miranda had came back in and candice had that white dress on, on the carpet with the photgraphers when they yell the model's name they called everyone names but called candice "the lady in white". *ouch* So thats why I asked MissNKlovesphotograph she means that candice is big in HF, because as far as the media and stuff goes *the things ale, adri, gisele, miranda* are popular in, candice isn't really that popular. If you are a VS fan like we all are then yeah of course your gonna know who candice is, but outside of that circle not really. The only reason I can see why they are using her so much is so that she gets more popular but all of the other angels def. needs that exposure too. But I still can't see any of them getting as popular or as notable as the old angels were

One thing I believe to be true is that Candice should be at a higher status than where she is at now. Sure she's known to a lot of people who follow VS or fashion, but to suggest that if she had an official facebook page she would have more "likes" than Adriana, to me that's a silly statement. But Candice has been in the VS show for years, they've been pushing her pictures for years, and she just opened the 2011 show but didn't get as strong of a reaction. I think she had it in her to have done better. Overall though, after Adriana had this much exposure with VS, it was rare that people didn't know who she was. But with Candice, even with how much they push her with media marketing, a bunch of my male friends still aren't too familiar with the name Candice Swanepoel. I think a lot of it has to do with your personality pushing you over the edge or over the top. I do think Candice has the type of main stream sex appeal it takes for models to launch into big stardom in the US, but no matter what happens I feel like she never reaches that point. Even with all the exposure she gets from gossip websites and sites like Dailymail. I feel that VS keeps pushing her in hopes of her becoming a prominent or even dare I say-'historic' angel, but she never seems to get closer for some reason. In good news though, she is still rather young. A good amount of time ahead of her, but I feel that she's so reserved in terms of her personality and being an Angel. I feel it holds her back, that's just me...once again, don't attack. I don't dislike the girl at all.

You'd have to know about VS and be a fan of it to know who candice is and why she should be just as important. But she is young so there is time to work on it but it better be quicker before some serious competition come her way or before the originals leave because I personally think once adri and ale is done, VS is going to fall short of what they use to be

Noooooo I don't believe so. If I did I meant mainstream, I am not one not judge HF because I don't follow it, I don't like, and Idgaf about it. And its rare I like the models that do it. And I know candice has to be known some way in the HF world after she lost all that weight and did all that work for it.

Hey. Just joined this amazing site. Candice is the only woman to wow me in the past 3 years. Clearly the most beautiful woman in the world (imo) and i like the fact that she's not a regular name on lips of every regular person. I live in the uk and starting late last year, Miranda started appearing in newspapers and now everyone is on the bandwagon. My male friends also don't know her.

She's amazing, really beautiful, and when you enter into the VS website you almost only see her pictures, but those people, that really don't care about fashion or VS, don't know her.

VS gives her a big exposition , but like Cherrybomb said before, i believe that her personality doesn't help her too much. And i'm not talking about her real personality, the one that only her friends and family knows. I'm talking about attitude, determination and confidence on the runway and in the interviews... i think that she doesn't show it too much, maybe because she might be a little bit shy.... i really don't know. The truth is that in my belief people love to see this kind of stuff and the media really searchs for that, for one person that makes the runway and the interviews one big and true show.

I understand what you guys say about attitude. I think Candice is reserved and maybe that doesn't help her. But... people change when they get older. Or maybe she never got the chance to show more. I mean, Adriana is reaaaally out there, she's outspoken, she got that kinda "crazy-funny" way and I'm sure that helped her. But Alessandra is more reserved, specially when she was younger and look how big she is now. Like Melocoton said, give Candice some time. I think her big "boom" happened these past 2 years, so... it's not fair to expect her to be perfect in 2 years. She is doing a great job! She's got a looong way to go, and I really believe in her.

I dislike these model "fame games" but why is a model who has virtually only been famous in the real world (not on fashion blogs) since about (2010/2011, or whenever her "weight" scandal broke out...) being compared to models who have been working since the late 90s/early 00s? That's not fair to her at all. That's not even her era.... and Candice for being a new model is doing quite well I'd say.
