Candice attended an all girls boarding school called St. Annes College. However, her days at school were soon to come to an end as something magical was soon to happen to her.

She happened to be discovered at a Durban flea market in South Africa at the age of 15, which is when her dreams of becoming a supermodel would soon become reality. Her world changed in a way she never could have imagined. Kevin Ellise, the model scout who first encountered that one summer day in Durban recalled, “It was like honestly, like a beautiful flamingo walking past my shop. The way she walked past just did it for me.”

Candice was obviously very ambitious and devoted to her career which helped her survive in the modeling industry. So I threw myself into my career and worked harder than I’d ever worked before.” It didn’t take long for Victoria’s Secret to realize there was something unique and special about her because before anybody knew it, she appeared in the VS Magazine and walked in the fashion show. Candice has said that, “It is a totally different part of the industry being a Victoria’s Secret angel. you have a voice and are able to express yourself and personality. Not only wearing the product but knowing every aspect of it and the company. The people i work with day to day are really and truly like my family, they are nurturing and so supportive, so it was easy for me to blossom amongst them.” And it is without a doubt that Swanepoel in fact, has truly blossomed throughout her career. She is now listed as #10 on the Forbe’s list of top earning models, taking in an impressive $3 million this year.

Candice is South Africa’s answer to Kate Moss”

Along the way, Candice has met many people and learned a lot from her experiences. She has been in the industry for more than 6 years now and has traveled to some of the world’s most exotic places including, Bahia, Milan, and London. She has also been blessed to do editorials with such high fashion designers such as Mario Testino and Bruce Weber. She also shot the cover of Italian Vogue with Steven Meisel, which, as Swanepoel claims, gave her “a chance to show people diversity, and genuine love for what [she] does.”

Candice may live a glamorous and luxurious life, but in actuality she is a very “simple, hardworking, and loyal person” (Swanepoel). While her job as a model may be hectic and extremely busy at times, she finds herself floating back to reality when spending time with her Brazilian boyfriend, Hermann Nicoli, who also happens to be a model. The couple met in Paris and have been dating for 6 years and counting.
