But the canny blonde, who calls her quirky dress sense "proper mad", has rented a nondescript first-floor New York apartment that is so tiny, there isn't even room for a sink in the bathroom. These exclusive pictures, taken outside Agyness Deyn's favourite shop show the kind of dress sense that has made her a global fashion icon Agyness, 25, who moved to America 18 months ago, has just toppled Kate Moss as Tatler's most stylish woman and is tipped to earn up to £10million this year. But she lives with her guitarist boyfriend Josh Hubbard in what estate agents call a railroad apartment – long and skinny like a train carriage. With barely enough room to swing a cat, Agyness uses the kitchen sink to clean her teeth. And unable to fit a wardrobe in the bedroom, she has screened off part of the sitting room as a closet. True to her down-to-earth roots, the former chip-shop server from Rochdale, Lancashire, has decorated the flat with a Bohemian mix of old furniture and eccentric ornaments found in flea markets. Agyness may have made a small fortune and become the face of everything from New Look and Reebok to Armani and Hugo Boss, but she is not letting it go to her head She is famed for her unconventional fashion sense and has become a familiar face around New York's grungy East Village, riding an old black bicycle along the busy streets and drinking beer straight from the bottle in bars. When she misses food from home she strolls along to 6th Street, where every other shop is a curry restaurant, or cycles over to the more celebrity-friendly West Village for Sunday roasts at British cafe Tea & Sympathy. Agyness rushed to be with nurse Lorraine, 54, in hospital. Lorraine's Dutch partner Dick Ballast, 42, a bakery technical manager, told The Mail on Sunday she was driving home from work when the accident happened. "She is lucky because it was a bad accident," he said. "She now has a problem with her finger but I'm sure it'll be OK eventually. It was a real shock for all of us but she is taking things easy and slowly and recovering." Agyness is now on "constant call" while her mum recovers. Friends say she considers Lorraine her "rock" for helping her through her transition from chip-shop worker to supermodel. She's in fashion: Agyness in more stylish mode backstage at a Michael Kors fashion show in New York earlier this year She may have made a small fortune and become the face of everything from New Look and Reebok to Armani and Hugo Boss, but Agyness is not letting it go to her head. She says she is still amazed when people stop her on the street and ask for an autograph.
