Jurassic World

I don't remember being so turned off by ads for a blockbuster before.  This one with the low key music(I know it's from the original theme)  and this new one that has "Welcome to Jurassic World" playing over and over again, it's very obnoxious.

Jurassic World although it does not have much charm as Jurassic Park, I have to say I really enjoyed this movie. There's some good no brilliant ideas and the most important thing is that Colin Trevorrow didn't copy all previous parts (which I expected) The icing on the cake is Chris Pratt as alfa :p

9/10

I saw this on opening night and really enjoyed it. I haven't seen the original yet, so I went into it without any biases or anything to compare it to, and thought it was an enjoyable film. It wasn't any sort of masterpiece in terms of writing or cinematography, but it was fun. Chris Pratt was great, and I enjoyed Bryce a lot too.

I saw it yesterday and I loved it (I avoid opening nights/weekends because too much people :ninja: ). Agreed, it's not a masterpiece of cinematographic art but I enjoyed it a lot.

I was a big fan of the older movies when I was a kid and this brought all of it back :D.  I loved the use of the music too and how they placed the Jurassic Park theme motif at some key moments.

Edit: I still missed seeing feathered dinosaurs.

Managed to catch it last night. It didn't match the inventiveness of 'Jurassic Park' and there were a couple things about it that, objectively, weren't that great, but good lord was it fun. The 130-minute running time felt like half an hour, I loved the nostalgic references to the old stuff and the sly comments on its own creation. The first sequel to do the original any real justice and a great night out at the cinema.

‘Jurassic World’ Sequel Set For June 2018; Chris Pratt Back

REAKING: Universal Pictures has set a June 22, 2018, release date for Jurassic World Sequel, which hopefully will have a catchier title and a director soon. But it does have Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard returning as the leads and Jurassic World helmer Colin Trevorrow writing the script. He isn’t returning as director because it’s expected he’ll instead go off and do one of the Star Wars films. Frank Marshall andSteven Spielberg are also in the braintrust.

It’s not surprising Universal would move aggressively on another sequel based on the novel by the late Michael Crichton, or that it would do it faster than the 14 years it took to make the fourth Jurassic movie. That delay had much to do with the tensions between Universal brass and Spielberg after his DreamWorks got close to making a distribution deal with the studio that owns the lot where he has been headquartered his entire career. Spielberg stayed in those Amblin offices, but the feelings were frosty when Spielberg’s DreamWorks made a distribution alliance at the last minute with Disney, leaving Universal at the altar.

All that is forgotten after the outsized performance of Jurassic World, which has grossed $614.3 million domestic and a whopping $1.522 billion worldwide. This week it became the third-highest-grossing film of all time, passing The Avengers.
