Why don't they have black girls with their actual hair instead of weaves/relaxed

 

They use to have a bald model and super short hair models..

 

so why not have black models with their natural hair?

 

 

Yeah the walk was very slow and very relaxed...not like the va va voom..but maybe this year she'll do just that

Very true. I'm suprised people still give adriana THAT much credit, but I think in the 2012 opening she toned it down. But only because she too was self conscious because she just came from having a baby

 

Yeah there is always room for improvement... hopefully she does. But if that hat on her head though, she not. and then adriana can thank her for the applause she got.

 

I hope Alessandra opens something this year like last year she didn't even open a segment....

 

It hurts me to say it but its about time for her to leave and adriana too kind of. I mean of course they milk adriana but then give candice the benefit of it all. The torch is def being passed though. Adriana can only open up so long and they can only be helped by her for so long. I think VS wants to hold on to them but they know what they have to do... too bad what they have been doing is an epic fail

 

They need them some better angels. Why is it so hard to find angels like the ones they had 2002-2005? They wouldn't have to push candice on us so much.

 

All of this. I especially think they should start building up a third wave of younger talent. That's why I thought they would jump at Barbara, Toni, Sara, Bregje etc.

The only living connection b/wn the 2 were during the colonization times when they went down to the Caribbean and South America to um, colonize? I think of places like Jamica, Haiti, Barbados, etc. Interesting considering Sigrid Agren is from Martinique a French colony in the Caribbean. Hm...

Edit: Personally, Birds of Paradise has the potential to be one of their most visually stunning segements ever. I mean wings of a Macaw?!

But macaws aren't birds of paradise, they live in south america, while birds of paradise only live in papua new-guinee and indonesia.

But I think it has the potential to become an epic segment though...

It’s not even close to showtime and Adriana Lima already has her wings on. Fittings for the highly anticipated Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show began this week, so we got a front row seat on set at the Victoria’s Secret headquarters as Adriana took this year’s looks (and her wings) for a test drive.

Each look is part of a theme that belongs to its own section. “This look is from the ‘British Invasion’ section—it’s the Queen,” says Lima who is, of course, wearing lingerie, but also a Vivienne Westwood-esque jacket covered entirely in pearly buttons. “It’s inspired by a London tradition where everyone in the neighborhood helps to make an outfit out of pearls or buttons for the king and the queen. My second look is from the ‘Paris Nights’ section that was inspired by a commercial we did in Paris. It’s very strong and romantic. My third outfit is a Snow Angel, which really brings you back to Christmas.”

Then Lima took us even further behind the scenes to her “dressing area” where she proudly pointed us towards a hanger holding a look belonging to Behati Prinsloo. From what we could gather, Behati will be the castle guard to Adriana’s royal highness. After the looks had been settled, we took a trip down memory lane to last year’s epic performance. Adriana’s face lit up when Rihanna’s name was mentioned. “She did such a great job that I think she outperformed all of us when she walked! I love her. I love her music, I love her personality—she is great.”

Which brings us to our next question: how does one get into good enough shape to keep up with the likes of Rihanna and Adriana Lima? Our first guest might be double Soul Cycle classes followed by Bari’s Boot Camp and days of juice cleansing. Luckily for Adriana, who has been too busy working to get to the gym, it’s none of the above. Instead of focusing on her core, she’s shifted her efforts towards another type of center. “Usually I focus only on working out before the show, but I’ve been shooting so I have to focus more on my mind to keep myself fit. I started reading a book called The Power of Now to bring me to the present, since the show is in six days! It’s a spiritual book to help you control your emotions and anxieties.”

Her beauty prep is even less involved than her workout regiment. “Believe it or not, I don’t like to do anything to my skin. Sweating from a workout is the best thing for your skin. I like to get a little bit of sun—while wearing sunblock, of course—and I drink tons of water. But I don’t get facials or put much on my face. For the show, the makeup is going to be glamorous and glowy.”

Even without her full hair and makeup, Lima is glowing from what looks to be sheer excitement for the upcoming show. “Even after 13 years, each year feels different. I’m always excited to see the outfits. I think, ‘What section am I going to be in? Where does the inspiration come from? Who will the musicians be? Which girls are going to be in the show? What will the stage look like? Who is going to come and watch? What will the commercial be like?’ I love to be a part of this. It’s the love of my life.” Lima’s excitement matches ours, so we assured her that won’t have to guess about whether or not the entire CR team will be in attendance on November 13th.

Really vs.. buttons? I don't think even Adriana can make buttons sexy.... pearly damn buttons.

That outfit is atrocious.. It makes Ale's look fanfuckingtastic.. and that's terrible as it's pretty bad too.

 

On a side note, Dri's face looks really pretty in those pics, and I like the soft, loose hair on her.

Adri's British invasion look is awful and not queen-like at all The buttons and pearls look so cheaply tacked on, and the giant "VS" logo on the butt area just looks like a no. Why cover her gorgeous body with that awful looking trainwreck :c

The ragged edges of the fabric on the back of the outfit really add to the "queen-like" appearance... right?

Would make sense, which means it'll probably be shipwrecked, birds of paradise, or pink as the second segment. And the Snow Angels or Paris will close the show. Normally they don't have the girls in back to back segments as far as I can tell.

Yeah I was like hold on queen? Thats candice thing, but then the hat they gave her wasn't queen like. Def more like a king. SO yeah candice the kind and adriana the queen that closes.... that sounds better

Eh, its alright. Usually Adriana gets 1 reeeally good, 1 reeeally bad and 1 alright outfit. I'm hoping this is the really bad one lmao.

^I love it. I wish maybe the back tails were longer and the wings a bit bigger. They're for a smaller built girl (Candice) which Adriana isn't so she overpowers them.

I wonder if they will change it up. I think it would better if Adriana opened and Candice closed.
