June 4, 20204 yr When reasonable people stay silent in front of extremists, that's when extremism wins. Spoiler

Once again the WHO was wrong, very wrong. @SuperG.Girl The plot thickens. Three out of four authors withdrew from the Lancet study that critcized hydroxychloroquine (it's the study on which the WHO drew), because they have high doubts on the raw data (that came from a company called Surgisphere). Once again, the WHO was wrong. The study that they blindly followed is proven wrong by esteemed experts (like Dider Raoult) and by 3/4 of its authors. I'm waiting for the apologies of the WHO (also, their apologies on Taiwan).
June 4, 20204 yr ^ @Stromboli1 @Matt! @Prettyphile @jkjk Have you seen this story about the study against hydroxychloroquine and the dubious data they used? Here's a link in English: article. Three out of four authors withdrew from this study (and if you recall, the WHO used this study as a reference). A dubious company provided highly suspicious raw data. It's terrible. I'm really angry at how such fallacy managed to pass the review system of The Lancet (not to mention how the WHO were fools once again). Also, as many newspapers say (and they're right, for once), politicization of subjects like hydroxychloroquine lead to terrible results.

So, there are still good people out there who can act. Of course, none of them are in the WHO, but that's another story The other good news is that they are really starting to make progress on the cross-immunity research that brings more and more evidence that having been infected by a coronavirus (not necessarily Covid 19) may mean that you have antibodies that works against several types of coronaviruses. If all this is verified by further research (it's just scientific speculation for now), it's possible that a huge part of the population is immune to Covid 19. PS: since you're bilingual now, you should listen to Prof. Didier Raoult!

It also explains why the youngest are the least exposed to Covid 19. Prof. Didier Raoult say that the younglings are most exposed virus cocktails (particularly respiratory viruses, like coronaviruses), so they build up a pretty good immunity.
June 5, 20204 yr OPEN UP AMERICA NOW! If you're able to protest, loot, and riot................ businesses, places of worship, schools, etc should be open full scale. What do you know............. politicians are breaking their own orders.
June 5, 20204 yr How did police reform go to defend/disband the police................. idiocies. Glad there's a 2nd amendment and that would make it even more necessary.

The rich politicians and journalists will safely be behind the walls of their multi-millions dollar mansions. Is there any level-headed politician or media left? You are right, @Enrico_sw, they will be the most impacted. But by that time, we will be in a crossover movie; Robocop The Purge. I’m sad to say that no, there is no level headed politicians. The media used to be the voice of the world. Today, it’s morphed into a conglomerate of bought opinions and arguments with no straight news.
June 8, 20204 yr The most popular Stoic philosophers are in this order: 1. Marcus Aurelius 2. Epictetus 3. Seneca After studying almost everything, it is very obvious to me that Seneca had 30 times + more substance than 1. and 2. combined. It looks to me that 1. and 2. are more popular because Meditations and the Enchirdion are very short and accessible compared to Seneca's writings. Fame is the accumulated dispositions of people whose opinions are worth nothing ~Cicero
June 8, 20204 yr kind of nuts that an obscure comic book gets a movie I remember reading it many years ago :. I heard that Jaime Lannister is being considered for Joel in the Last of US (HBO)

That's what I would've thought a couple of weeks ago, but it seems that "nature imitates art" and reality is now trying to transcend the parodies. Quote Minneapolis City Council members intend to defund and dismantle the city's police department https://edition.cnn.com/2020/06/07/us/george-floyd-protests-sunday/index.html On 6/6/2020 at 10:00 PM, CandleVixen said: I’m sad to say that no, there is no level headed politicians. Apparently, our media/political system is so bipolar that it can't conceive the possibility of both saying that "violent policemen should be punished" and "most people in the police protect the weakest in our societies". All in all, it seems to be forbidden to be moderate in the media.
June 8, 20204 yr The gun sales are skyrocketing in the US... The NRA is probably very happy today: dismantling the police is probably better than their biggest dreams. https://www.newsweek.com/us-gun-sales-spike-amid-pandemic-protests-1508775 The world is getting crazier. Moderate/sane people need to speak up and speak out against ALL the extremists from ALL sides.
June 8, 20204 yr Can't wait until Minneapolis disbands their police and their city burns afterwards, then they'll blame Trump and whomever else.
