Queen Meve of Rivia from Thronebreaker and the later Witcher novels is depicted like this in CDPR, with golden armor.  It does not appear that any of her knights wear gold armor either.  Various English kings wore golden armor suits as well, historically:

 

 

In the books, Geralt stumbles into an ongoing battle that has nothing to do with him and is forced to fight on accident.  After the battle he ends up getting knighted by Meve for his 'achievements' as Geralt of Rivia.  The Thronebreaker cutscene shows Geralt smirking at Meve while she knights him.  Then he deserts her army just like in the books.  I just finished Book 1 a second time again and Sapkowski writes of Geralt's contempt for knights, similar in his mind as mafia enforcers with the feudal system as a criminal organization.

 

The first time I saw this character trait is at the very beginning of Witcher 3 in White Orchard where Geralt meets the Nilfgaard Officer pretending to show concern for the peasants.

This music is so powerful. It was even better in the cinema.

 

my instagram, twitter, and facebook accounts are complete failures as cut & paste advertising.  They have brought in almost zero traffic.  It seems like these social media have no SEO value unless you pay for it, attract followers from other platforms, or spend your life building the platform itself.

 

Tiktok & youtube shorts on the other hand has had slow but steady traffic.  Tittok is very stingy. Unless I get viral on tiktok I'll never get monetized in a reasonable timeframe, I only get around 60 followers a month by posting 2 advertisements a day.

I love Indie productions (not just in movies, but also video games or music). The thing with good movies is that they can be costly and it's an oligopoly (Hollywood has the dominant player – with big studios – and the rest as the competitive fringe). It's hard for the fringe to fight, which is less the case in video games and really really less the case for music (anyone can do good music, they'll just lack the marketing campaigns, but word of mouth can be very efficient.

Could you be more specific? Are we talking about movies or history?

 

If it's history, there are many things to say about how homosexuality was treated in history. In Ancient Greece/Rome, gay people were recognized and it was fully accepted. Then in the rest of history, it's an oscillation between uphill and downhill moments. But it's not: past is bad, modern days are great.

 

If it's the movies, gay people were better treated in the 90s and 00s than now, where they are treated like tokens.

This corresponds to the 1st half of the 20th century. This was never the case in any other centuries. First, because for thousands of years, the main job for the workforce was farming (a very hard job at the time - men/women were in the fields and women were lucky when they could take a break and do house chores).

 

The patriarchy is a fantasy about the past that wokism has invented out of thin air. History books don't show such caricature except for a tiny period (1st half of 20th century give or take - maybe you could say 1850 to 1980 if you wanted to be broader, but not before or after).

In reality, for thousands of years, society was divided in:

- a tiny ruling class (where men tended to have the upper hand - though not always)

- the rest of the population who were way below (I don't think men were below women like it's shown in this graph, because both men/women had their struggles, but men had lives full of hardships, because of: working in the fields, fighting against nature, wars, etc. => you can't call that a patriarchy).

 

Caution: It's a very broad scheme and reality is way more complex, but this is way more accurate than: "we've been in a patriarchy for zillions of years and now women are liberated". This patriarchy myth is completely disproved by history.

@Enrico_sw how is the patriarchy a myth when women weren't allowed to vote, go to school and/or study, to choose whatever job they wanted, which man they married (and even more important when she got married all her possession belonged now officially to the husband even their children), or god forbid having a sexual relationship without being married - all of this until the 20th century and very much also in the west.

The whole war in Ukraine has a horizontal aspect that is obvious if you look at the Anti-West media of Asia & Africa, a bit of the 'blue collar' "3rd/developing countries' vs. the decadent white collar garden "The West".   Many peoples of these countries want NATO to fail mainly because they are tired of being economically exploited by the West as poorly paid back-breaking laborers at the low-end of the value chain.

 

So the whole envy-resentment chain is not just gender but in class warfare LOL.
