I certainly know I would have loved to have been chosen to be their guide, but , at same time, I ,also, know I probably would not have done a very good job.

I'm afraid I would been so distracted trying take in every inch of Leo, that I would have lost track of what I was supposed to be showing them and saying :p :p

Imagine if it was one of us who worked there... double the excitement for us.

Solange

I love all three pix you posted. I have never seen them, thanks :)

A kind person on the Able Minds forum posted a link to a transcript for chat Leo did back in 2001 to talk about saving the gorillas.... I love how passionate he gets when talking about the environment. :)

DiCaprio urges fans to support shark bill

Leonardo DiCaprio is pleading with fans in California to back a bill banning the sale of shark fins in the state.

The Titanic star, a passionate animal rights campaigner, previously wrote a letter to officials in support of Assembly Bill 376, which would make it illegal to possess, sell or trade sought-after fins.

Now DiCaprio is ramping up his efforts as authorities prepare to vote on the legislation - he has asked Californians to place calls to their state senators and ask them to protect sharks.

In a post on his Twitter page, he writes, "This is our last shot. Please help."

The actor has also called for fans to sign a petition urging world leaders to do more for shark conservation.

Edward Norton, Kristen Bell, Paul Rudd and Scarlett Johansson and pop star Ke$ha are among the stars who are backing the bill to save sharks

Thanks princess! :flower: Here's the link he posted to his twitter... you don't have to live in California to help. :)

In that poster, Emile has the Leo hair and facial hair but to me, otherwise doesn't look too much like Leo. He does resemble Leo but doesnt have Leo's cheekbones and the eyes are different and of course, Emile is younger and shorter than Leo. Interesting fact is that Sean Penn wanted Leo for Into the Wild but was having trouble getting rights to the book to make into a movie so by the time he got the rights, Leo was too old for the part and the part was given to Emile.

Two personal faves:

Beautiful pix, solange, thank you! :flower: His whole look in Inception was just amazing... I remember an article about costume designer that talked about how much thought was put into the clothes and how all the clothes were made for the movie, nothing bought off the rack. The attention to detail really shows. :)

I highly recommend Into the Wild to anyone who hasn't seen it. Leo would have been so awesome in that role, especially considering his interest in the environment, but Emile did a great job.

Posting nice article that the Australian Featherdale Wildlife Park has on their website about Leo and Blake's recent visit

http://www.featherdale.com.au/home.aspx

Over the years when asked about the Oscars, I've always heard Leo say that "All I can do is give the best performance I can while filming, what happens after the film is in the can I have no control over

I think he has the right mindset when it comes to his chosen work and things like box office and awards

Some NY Times Vulture Ocar speculating now that "Ides of March" has previewed at Venice Film Festival

Best Actor

UP: Leonardo DiCaprio (J. Edgar). There's no clear front-runner in this category yet, which makes DiCaprio's still-unseen Hoover performance the one everyone is afraid of. http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/..._it_begins.html

Niiice! Cool articles, ox, thank you! :flower: I agree he has the right perspective about awards. I almost think we want them for him more than he wants for himself. ;) I do believe the academy respects him as much if not more than a lot of the recent winners, and he's had a better career than many of them. He just happens to be in a very competitive category with some very showy performances the years he was nominated. Hopefully this year will be his turn, but regardless I can't wait to see J. Edgar. :)

Also thanks for clarifying the tweets. The more I read from the "neighbor," the less I believe. ;)

I love your siggie, btw. He looks so handsome.

I dont know whether anyone here has seen this video before, but it's always nice to see how cute Leo is when he's signing autographs. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67MxVBh0iVU&NR=1

Thanks Pami! :flower: He's so sweet with the fans. I love your sig as well. Those arms! :D

In fact this interview it's a reprint from 2008/2009, I have exactly the same interview in a Brazilian magazine, but still it's a pretty good interview, thanks

Leo looks so cute with that glasses.

 I wonder if he really needs glasses?

I think the interview first appeared in a U.S. mag, but I can't remember which one. It might have been Parade or USA Today? The quotes sound familiar, but I think something got lost in the translation to different languages because I don't remember them being so dramatic (like "I never believed in love".... that doesn't sound like him?).

I love your sig, too. So romantic... I hope Leo and Marion do another movie together someday. :)

Awww I love your set too Barbie! Dom and Mal were cute  Anyone else notice they had pics of Leo and Marion kissing during the filming of Inception, but it never made it into the movie!? :(

Another J.Edgar article!

Cool new story about Leo hanging out with Joel!

Grrr why do they always deny us his love scenes?! :p That's a beautiful pic, kat, thank you, and for the articles too! :flower: Love to hear about him hanging out with his castmates.

Lol this girl's tweet is funny
aintn0wifey Janica Alcos

So, what did we learn last night? Do not try to holla at me while I'm checking out Leonardo DiCaprio. I WILL FUCK YOUR LIFE UP.

Twitter

The name of the club he was apparently hanging out in is Beach Haus.

Ahahaha someone takes her Leo watching very seriously! I don't blame her one bit. Thanks for the tweets, aomg (and always nice to see the lovely Blake). :flower:

Toby Maguire is unrecognisable as he puts himself through an energetic beach workout with Carey Mulligan

Thanks Anil! :flower: Tobey's kids are sooo adorable. I hope they give their uncle Leo some ideas about starting a fam of his own. ;)

An article on TIFF that talks about J. Edgar not premiering there...

Canadian Press

Still, Toronto's heavyweight slate does include notable gaps — veteran director Clint Eastwood chose to skip Toronto as he readies his Leonardo DiCaprio vehicle "J. Edgar" for theatrical release, while favourite son Jason Reitman is bypassing the fest as he readies the Charlize Theron dramedy "Young Adult."

Handling says each film has its own marketing plan.

"Paramount and Jason decided that this film was not going to go to festivals, they made that decision, we're totally respectful of that decision," he says.

"We fought tooth and nail for every single film that's out there that's not in this festival and they decided to go ahead with a different release strategy."

He notes that while not every film is suited to the Toronto festival, neither is the festival suited to every film.

"There's a huge financial investment at play here and some people just decide that it's best to go (straight) into release day," he says.

"They don't want to build up the press twice — come to Toronto, do the big press hit, pay for everyone to come up and then maybe two months later try and regenerate that activity when their film actually goes into the marketplace. For other films, of course, they have no hesitation doing that, 'The King's Speech' being one of those examples."

A film without great commercial expectations stands to benefit most from Toronto's buzz-laden fest, while big films with heavyweight backers can more easily skip the festival, he explains.

"Clint Eastwood is a director who's very, very well-known. He's extremely particular. He goes to festivals with some of his films, he doesn't go to festivals with others of his films. Martin Scorsese is another one of those directors," Handling says.

"It really is filmmaker by filmmaker — it depends on the time of their career, whether they are early in their career, late in their career, whether they are established.... You have to almost restart and every single year is a new festival, a new series of relationships."

Aren't these new: post-43201-0-1446088819-55862_thumb.png

Anyways, they are hot. Lol.

Or are they just outtakes from the Esquire shoot?

Thanks winter and bari! :flower: They look like Inception era pix, no? Maybe outtakes from the Rolling Stone shoot last year? While I'm praising sigs, South Park rules.

<_< It wasn't really neccesary for them to name Leo in this article. They are just using his popularity/ name recognition.

Leonardo's 'green team' killing jobs and scaremongering

Leonardo DiCaprio ought to stick to acting. When it comes to environmentalist activism, his favorite organization is going from failed policy initiatives to scare tactics.

Leo is heavily involved (and heavily subsidizing, no doubt) a group called the National Resources Defense Council , which is a hard-left, environmental advocacy group. But as nice and wonderful as "protecting" the earth sounds, the NRDC is choosing policy prescriptions that just don't work.

Take 'green jobs' for an example. The NRDC is big on "priorities," the first of which is what on Capitol Hill was known as "Cap and Trade". The NRDC wants "a cap...set on the amount of carbon American polluters can release, and as a result, private investment in clean energy grows by hundreds of billions of dollars and workers find jobs manufacturing solar components and hybrid cars." Ah, a glorious vision that has proven totally false. Just look at the "solar components" manufacturers that were even touted by the Obama administration, that are out of business. We wrote about Solyndra last week but did you know that not only did the California company fail, even with $535 million rfom the feds and kill 1100 jobs in the process, but other solar component businesses -- Evergreen in Massachusetts, SpectraWatt in New York and BP Solar in Maryland -- have also been dropping like flies.

NRDC is now covering itself in shame using scare tactics to try and reverse a decision by President Obama to put a hold on new, restrictive ozone regulations that would have killed more business. The internet ad running in Pennsylvania implores users to call Sen. Bob Casey so he can "support strong smog standards" and calculates the number of times it has been unsafe for kids to breathe in Pennsylvania and "elsewhere in the United States this year." The ticker goes up and up and up and up. The picture of a girl talking through an oxygen mask is really the strongest visual and the most unrealistic. But when you think about it, by what standard is the NRDC judging the air as "unsafe to breathe"?

Like Leo, the NRDC is putting on a good show about its desire for a clean and sustainable future. The reality is NRDC is promoting a jobs-killing agenda that the country can little afford right now.

After reading the interviewers little blurb about what the interview would be about... I was expecting a little more than just pretty cool from Elizabeth Olsen :p

As part of our Fall Movie Preview, Olsen called up MTV News recently to chat about the film. By turns earnest, giggly, awestruck and grateful about the place she finds herself at the age of 22, Olsen spoke passionately about what it was like to work with writer/director Sean Durkin, the media lessons she learned from her sisters, and what it was like to be in the same room as Leonardo DiCaprio.

MTV: Who'd you get to hang out with?

Olsen: I don't really approach people at all! I don't know why — I just don't! I got to sit next to Kevin Bacon. Growing up, one of our family-favorite movies was "Tremors."

MTV: I thought you were going to say "Footloose" or something.

Olsen: It was "Tremors"! I got so excited that I got to talk to him. He was totally nice. Also, having Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg in the room was pretty cool too.

This site lists Leo.. as one of the guys they think are the most dateable guys. I agree wholly with the commentary. I was going to go hey but Blake isn't a supermodel... but they said looks like one and she does. :p

Leonardo Dicaprio

Environmental activist, serial block buster maker, muse to Martin Scorsese and a complete HUNK. Need I say more? The only issue is, if you don’t look like a super model chances are you won’t get to date him. So start hitting the gym girls, this one likes them skinny.

Films to tickle your fancy this fall

“J. Edgar” – Nov. 9

Directed by Clint Eastwood

Regardless of the reason, Clint Eastwood’s directed pictures have become both box office smashes and some of the most well-reviewed films of their respective years, with only a few deviants. Likewise, Leonardo DiCaprio has regained his “Titanic” level of popularity and is among today’s most sought-after stars, especially following “Shutter Island” and “Inception.” In “J. Edgar,” Eastwood and DiCaprio team up to create a film about a famous historical figure. Guaranteed home run? Maybe. Match made in heaven? Certainly. Despite an amazing track record, DiCaprio has never claimed an Oscar of his own. Barring a catastrophe, one that it seems Eastwood and DiCaprio are not capable of (“Hereafter” and “The Man in the Iron Mask” aside), both of these Hollywood icons should be reaping the rewards from sales and may have more achievements come awards season.
