From NY Post Page Six more information regarding Leo's upcoming environmental fundraiser in St Tropez

post-52324-0-1446087391-04683_thumb.jpg

Leonardo DiCaprio is throwing his first charity fund-raiser in St. Tropez on July 23.

Representatives for the star have sent out invitations to the inaugural Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation St. Tropez Gala. The event is to raise money for environmental causes.

An e-mail sent out urging people to buy tickets reads, “By attending and supporting this event you will not only be part of what will without a doubt be the most glamorous, talked-about and exclusive events of the summer, but even more importantly, your support will go directly to saving the earth.”

The LDF Gala will be held at rosé winery Domaine Bertaud Belieu.

And for the record, the scraggy new beard DiCaprio’s been photographed sporting is for the movie “The Revenant,” where he’ll play frontiersman Hugh Glass.

Pix from yesterday of Leo, Toni, and her brother at Goal during German/Brazil World Cup match yesterday

The article headline tries to claim that Leo and Toni must have been bored with game as they chose instead to look at their phones, but , I think, they both knew at that moment someone was trying to sneak a pix of the duo :p

The German supermodel Toni Garrn and mega star Leonardo DiCaprio (mother is German!) The game did not want to, of course, be missed. They sat down in the "Goal Sports Cafe" in West Hollywood, from the DiCaprio is a shareholder.

But instead of staring with wide eyes and mouths on the TV screen, they typed listlessly around on their smartphone displays. Motionless faces included!

I beg your pardon? That was a killer game in which Jogi's boys Brazilians downright mangled with a historic 7-1 win. How can one be so calm?

Maybe the finale!

l'm excited for his charity fundraiser. Wonder who will be there. You never see his mum or dad at the same events so l wonder if they'll both be there.

Foxy

I'm ,also, looking forward to charity gala ; I can't wait to see the new pix (Y)

It's been a while since we've seen him with his Dad & Peggy, so it will be interesting to see who attends.

I wonder if Leo's plans are to do a little vacationing after the event in that area

I wish Leo could come back to Brazil again to watch the World cup final between Germany and Argentina, he could bring Toni, it would be so nice. :hehe:

Thanks for the pictures Katchitup  Nice seeing him with his dad. His dad doesn't look that tall so I wonder where he gets his height from because Irmelins not that tall either is she?

Funny enough we were just discussing not seeing his dad for the longest while and long behold Leo gets pictured with him the same day. :p Thanks Barbie and Kat for the pics.

Barbie

Kat

Tks for new pix of Leo with George and guys :)

Fash

Yes, it is funny that we were just discussing "Where's George ?" , and then he appears (Y)

It's almost as if Leo called him up and said , "Dad , the ladies miss seeing you, come out with us today ." :p

Foxy

As to Leo's height, we know from pix Irmelin's parents weren't tall either .

I wish we could see pix of more of George's family , as there may be 'height' on that side :)

More Revenant filming news

Also regarding the time frame, most movie productions close down for several weeks in December for holiday break , as Gatsby did when Leo was fiming there

From West Edmonton Journal :

Oscar-nominated movie star Leonardo DiCaprio will be returning to Alberta to shoot his next film, a revenge Western called The Revenant, the Calgary Herald has learned.

Sources say the film will be shot in both B.C. and Alberta, likely in the fall. No firm dates or locations have been confirmed, but sources say production officials have already opened an office in Vancouver and are looking for space in Calgary.

“It’s anticipated a shooting schedule in the October to March range,” said the source about the Alberta shoot. “Eighty days of shooting.

According to movie-industry news sources, it will be directed by Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, best known for dramas such as 21 Grams, Babel and Biutiful. Actors Tom Hardy and Will Poulter, best known for his role in the comedy We’re the Millers, will co-star.

DiCaprio and Hardy were in Alberta in 2010 to shoot Christopher Nolan’s big-budget spectacle Inception.

Based on a novel by Michael Punke, the film “centers on the 1820s’ story of a frontiersman, Hugh Glass, who set out on a path of vengeance against those who left him for dead after a bear mauling,” according to Internet Movie Database.

Los Angeles Times reports that Emmanuel Lubezki, the Oscar-winning cinematographer who shot Gravity, has also signed on for the project.

Thanks for the Revenent news Oxford! Also, it will be interesting to see Leo work with another director he hasn't worked with before :) I personally never heard of Alejandro before, so again should be interesting.

And yes Leo shot a portion of Inception in Alberta 5 years ago. :)

Fash

I've seen his films : 21 Grams, Babel and Biutiful; his films always center around character studies rather than action, etc, and I like that , and I'm sure the same will be true of Revenant.

As , yes, it is a story of a man's remarkable perseverance to survive, but , it ,also, touches on the subject of 'revenge' how it can 'motivate' , but , at times 'destroy' one

More Revenant news , it is regarding financing, but it ,also, gives us some more information about the film

From Hollywood Reporter :

With the fate of Leonardo DiCaprio's upcoming project The Revenant hanging in the balance, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that producer Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures is negotiating to come aboard as financial backer. The move comes as New Regency, the project's principal backer, attempts to replace financing that was to have come from Worldview Entertainment, which has pulled back on film financing lately in the wake of CEO Christopher Woodrow's June exit amid claims of personal misconduct.

The film, to be directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Babel) and co-starring Tom Hardy and Will Poulter, is a harrowing survival story set in the early 19th century, based on the experiences of fur trapper Hugh Glass. Inarritu and Mark L. Smith wrote a screenplay based on Michael Punke's 2002 novel, The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge.

New Regency is said to have approached Fox unsuccessfully for financial backing. The company would have been on the hook for a big chunk of the budget if the movie fell apart because Hardy's deal is pay-or-play, according to sources, and DiCaprio's deal is all but pay-or-play.

In addition, sources say Inarritu, whose Birdman (also for New Regency) will open the Venice Film Festival in September, has been at odds with producers over the budget of the new film, which is aiming to begin shooting in September. Inarritu's desire to shoot The Revenant in sequence would add $7 million to the cost, according to a knowledgeable source. "Alejandro has been threatening to walk off, but Alejandro will get his way, and everything will be fine," the source said. -
