December 3, 201212 yr The important thing is the film is getting a lot of buzz, and despite that Tarantino's movies have their own cult of obsessed fans (Me ), I LOVE the fact that for what everyone is more excited about this film is Leo's acting there as Calvin. Nothing else. (Y)

December 3, 201212 yr Must be that bloody django still, and the jaimie story was indeed true!Leonardo DiCaprio Needed Stitches After One Django Unchained SceneYou've seen Leonardo DiCaprio's tobacco-stained baddie grin in the Django Unchained clips enough times to think your excitement's completely maxed out, correct? In comes producer Stacey Sher, who says in one scene, "Leo had slammed his hand on the table countless times and he moved his hand further and he crushed a crystal cordial glass. Blood was dripping down his hand. He never broke character. He kept going. He was in such a zone. It was very intense. He required stitches." And that's the take you'll find in the final cut.http://news.feedzill...format=rss&sb=1
December 3, 201212 yr Below is excerpt from a review of the film posted by someone who attended one of the recent screenings. I'm not posting their entire review as it has spoilers, however, I will say that 'overall' they were not a fan of the movie as a whole. What I'm posting below are the comments of said poster and wife regarding Leo's performance as Candie The acting, across the board, is superb. My wife noted that Leonardo DiCaprio is better in Django than Brad Pitt was in Basterds. I agree, but don't find the comparison altogether fair. The style of "acting" employed by Pitt was something akin to the style of acting employed by John Wayne. The punchline of John Wayne was that he was John Wayne. Nobody was supposed to believe he was any character. His acting strategy in every picture I see him in appears to be "be iconic." Meanwhile, DiCaprio's character ("Candy") is far more insidious. DiCaprio allows his cruelty and callousness- his straight-up, horrifying, dear-jesus-christ-make-it-stop racism to seem completely natural. It's arresting. I can't think of a movie where I've been more impressed with DiCaprio's work. Even his dialect work didn't leave the usual metallic aftertaste Kat Tks for RPatz comments about Leo / Django scene article
