THR: Is Wolf, about a young New York stockbroker swept up in a large securities fraud case and based on Jordan Belfort’s autobiography, a heavy drama?

Aziz: No, and our recent decision to cast Jonah Hill was a good way of countering that notion. It’s a trippy, out-of-control story.

this quote makes me really excited for the movie. I was kind of wary of the project because.. I don't think we really need another movie about greedy wall street types. It's been done to death and there's only so much you could say about it lol plus I find the guy it's based on (jordan) reallyy sketchy, and it kind of bothers me that he'll profit from the movie.

I haven't read the script so I can't compare it to marty's other films, but the reviews on that site weren't that favorable. Not that it's a bad thing to make another goodfellas/casino lol but I guess those people wanted Marty to do something different? and not something so familiar to him.

posey: the entertainment industry. she works as a reporter on some show, gets invited to some events (eg. cannes, tiff, etc) and she has interviewed celebs. She does get inside info on some things such as film casting news but I think she's really off base with the leo thing lol

An adorable article from Popsugar. We can also see some pics that have already been posted here. :)

Leonardo DiCaprio and Erin Heatherton Have Biking, Acting, and Philanthropy in Common

Leonardo DiCaprio and Erin Heatherton mixed love and exercise yesterday while on a bike ride in NYC. The couple has been hanging out in the Big Apple for the last week, enjoying cycling sessions and meals together at places like the restaurant Candela Candela. Leo and Erin checked out the musical Once as well, after the stage version of the 2006 movie picked up a slew of statues at last weekend's Tony Awards. Leo's on a break from making movies, after wrapping up work on Django Unchained and before starting up on Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street.

Erin seems to have taken a page from Leo's book and has taken up acting, too — she recently filmed a small part in Adam Sandler's Grown Ups 2. She and Leo also share a passion for philanthropy. Erin's involved in the charity, The Global Poverty Project, and recently wrote about her involvement. Of discovering the organization, which aims to help those living in extreme poverty, Erin wrote, "In my heart I felt I found that missing link in my life, a way I could use my voice to make a difference in the world . . . I'm only 23, and while every day brings a new challenge, a new lesson and a new self-discovery, I now know that I'm on the right path. I know that I can make a difference in the world." She wrote the article for the Chicago Sun-Times, the biggest local paper for the Skokie, IL native.

Pami

Found this article about Leo /Rio conference . It it about a girl who was selected to present at conference from the selection jury that included Leo and Don Cheadle.

It appears that is the only way in which Leo was involved in the conference was as part of the selection jury .

As it would seem if he was attending , we would have articles about his appearance appearing on Google by now .

First catch the attention of Leonardo DiCaprio, then change the world. It's a lot to ask, but Brittany Trilford is already half way there.

On Thursday she is one of the opening speakers, with a five minute address to 130 heads of state at the Rio+20 Earth Summit. She was selected after an impassioned video that impressed a jury including Hollywood heavyweights DiCaprio and Don Cheadle.

"It's very exciting, it's very nerve-racking, but I think I can handle it," the 17-year-old Queen Margaret College pupil says. "I think the excitement will outweigh the nerves on the day."

She is taking her ambassadorial role seriously and aims to keep leaders at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development honest as they discuss jobs, energy, sustainable cities, food security and sustainable agriculture, water and oceans.

Thanks for Pop Sugar caption :)

Geegine

As I stated earlier, I'm a person who read both the book and the script, and I , personally, I see no similarity to Casino or Goodfellas

I would recommend that all read the book , and see what it is all about /Jordan's self depreceating humor .

From the comments I read on Twitter and the various movie blogs I read, lots of people are looking forward to the new Marty/Leo project, and so am I :)

Shine

Thanks for putting all our new Leo/Erin biking pix in a set :)

Yes Oxford, first of all tks for your search. :)

I read about this girl too and I guess you're right. I think the media here increased a lot the facts and they rushed a bit. But at least he supported this event. :)

Tks Shine for pics without those tags. hehe

Extras Open Call for Scorsese's 'Wolf of Wall Street' in NYC

By Daniel Lehman

June 15, 2012

In the late '80s and early '90s, a young New York stockbroker named Jordan Belfort was making thousands of dollars a minute, and spending it just as quickly on sex, drugs, and an insatiable appetite for his life of luxury. But it all came crashing down around the notorious "Wolf of Wall Street," when his greed and excess – which included sinking a 170-foot yacht and racking up a $700,000 hotel tab – caught the attention of the SEC and FBI. Belfort was banned from the securities business for life in 1994 and later spent 22 months in jail for fraud and money-laundering, losing hundreds of millions of dollars as a result.

Grant Wilfley Casting is holding an open call for union and nonunion background for "The Wolf of Wall Street," a big screen adaptation of Belfort's bestselling 2007 autobiography of the same title. Martin Scorsese will direct the film, with Leonardo DiCaprio starring as Belfort. The cast also includes Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, and Jean Dujardin. The screenplay is adapted by Terence Winter ("Boardwalk Empire," "The Sopranos"). Production begins in August in the New York City area.

Allison Hall, senior background casting associate for GWC, is seeking men and women to portray "young stockbroker types" and "beautiful young women." Extras must be 18 or older and can be any ethnicity. No experience necessary.

Open call auditions will be held Friday, June 29 in New York City. SAG-AFTRA members will be seen first, followed by nonunion actors. For more information and audition details, view the full casting notice online at BackStage.com. (Subscription required.)

Hall has previously cast extras for feature films including "Men in Black 3," "New Year's Eve," "Shutter Island," and more, as well as television series such as "Pan Am," "Are We There Yet?," and "Ugly Betty."

Thanks for the wolf casting news ox, as well as the info about jonah hill also being in Django! So I guess his part might be small, cause with the amount of filming, it must be! Also, don't take this the wrong way ( ), but do you feel it spoils the movie experiance if you read the scipt first? Just curious, as to what you thought about that, as I would not like to read the scripts. Leaves more for entertainment if you ask me :)

Thanks shine for the full set of pics :flower:
